  1. Giolito might be the best pitcher on the market. He'll have decent value even as a rental.
  2. No one wants to hear it when a pitcher is getting shelled, but Lynn's underlying metrics didn't indicate he was ever cooked. This wasn't a Keuchel situation.
  3. It's impossible to win with this many bad players on your roster. The Sox are at a significant talent disadvantage almost every night. Everything needs to burn because there is no other path out of this.
  4. 6th worst record in baseball as things stand now. 3 games out of the 3rd worst record. don't stop now boys https://www.tankathon.com/mlb
  5. Some pitches you can't hit the opposite way. TA will never walk or hit for power, but he should be physically capable of driving a pitch on his hands down the LF line for a double.
  6. I would have agreed with that for years, but right now *all* he's trying to do is flip singles into RF. Hitting the ball with authority to the pull side would make everything easier for him again as a hitter.
  7. TA and Vaughn's approach that inning was just as bad. Both guys were going out of their way not to pull the ball pathetic
  8. Sheets is a wasted roster spot. Just like ~20 other players on the team right now.
  9. I think Lopez will pitch very well down the stretch for whichever team acquires him
  10. I don't think there's much mystery with Colas but at least we haven't seen as much of him at the big league level.
  11. at least those guys add a ton of defensive value
  12. Not good enough from AV. That's the story of his career.
  13. Lucas is really good, man. I'm going to miss watching him pitch every 5 days
  14. It's pathetic how few players currently on this roster actually do
  15. Being last in OBP means you have fewer opportunities to hit into double plays
  16. The 2nd best hitter on the team has a .278 OBP
  17. It also feels cruel to me singling out Seby when ~2/3s of tonight's lineup is replacement level caliber talent. There's just so much dead weight here why fixate on a backup catcher when that position league-wide is universally terrible.
  18. TA hitting a decently struck flyball for what feels like the first time all season
  19. Good stuff but shaky command. The Sox never wait pitchers like this out so he might as well be
  20. Burger against anything that spins from a RHP is tough to watch
  21. I agree but it's going to annoy me for awhile that Jerry didn't pay up to keep him here long term
