With all the talk about Ozzie's first game, lets' look at some of the greats in WS history. Whose the best?

you could have included Fielder Jones who did the one thing that most of our young Sox fans would give their left one to see...

but you had to include Bevington

couldnt vote not old enough to know anyone. i only remember jerry i dont remember who was before him

You're lucky to not know who Bevington was. Though he had a strange mastery of the bullpen, he just was not very good at...ummm...anything.

I'm only 34 (only...?) so I obviously have no real knowledge of Kid Gleason other than what I have read, and from how he was portrayed in Eight Men Out, but my liking of him comes from that stuff. He seemed like such a pure Baseball guy, who really had a strong desire to win, but was dealt a lousy blow. There were a couple of old time managers that I have read about, that I would easily place high on my list. Just because you have never seen them, doesn't mean you can't love them. Heck, there are still people who consider their favorite players to have been people like Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, etc.
