  2. True and that was my concern about the trades in general if any of them didn't move the needle much. But the Castillo trade does since he has shown that he is still very capable of being very good. But it also may not move the needle much if Davis Martin can't get his act together and the Sox messed with a guy like Fedde who was actually having success to accommodate Schultz. If you just look at his stuff I lean towards it not being an aberration now that he's back to throwing his change up against LHH. But this is how it is when you are still searching for a team to win at a better rate than the Sox have been hovering at for 2 months now. It's hard to get all the pieces firing on all cylinders when you have so many guys coming up and still roster churning looking for guys to step up . It'll work and then it won't and someone you had for a brief time clicks with another team. Mead goes but Peters stays. Sox claim Bryan Hudson from Brewers, Sox trade him to the Mets for cash, then the Mets let him go and the Sox reclaim him all in a 7 month period. Mead traded for Boston SMith. Boston Smith helps get Castillo. Originally Mead (along with Duncan Davitt and Ben Peoples) was traded by the Rays to the Sox for Adrian Houser who was released from the Rangers and the Sox signed for $1.35M 5/20/25. Duncan Davitt got us Joey Bart. Joey Bart getting injured led to claiming Jake Rodgers. Round and round we go. They also got Shane Smith and Mike Vasil in the Rule 5 both were good for them last year and non factors this year.
  3. If I were a fan it would've started with trading Skubal. It's the we can't have nice things,

That's how the Sox are developing them these days; or how a lot of them are turning out. But, yea, it would be nice to see more batting average.
  5. I'm a huge Chicago sports guy. Love the bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and Sox. Followed them all since I was very young but Sox are easily my favorite out of them all. Maybe I've mellowed as I age but I feel very lucky to have seen a Superbowl winner , all the Bulls and Blackhawks championships and even a White Sox Championship. That's 11 Champions ! (12 if you count the Cubs. Growing up it was like Chicago didn't have a Champion since the 1961 Blackhawks and 1963 Bears both of which I was too young to remember and the Bears broke the ice in 1986 As a sports fan and Chicago fan in particular., I feel so blessed. I just can't get all worked up about the bad things although I do save most of my ire towards ownership and my worried, scared and scarred , very critical fellow fans.
  6. I think he's building the most profitable venture imaginable: Six Flags.
  7. This is payback for the 2024 Sox sending three Central teams to the playoffs
  8. I agree with you and I think he’s traded in the offseason.
  9. Or you could say they believe in him more than any other catcher not named Teel and want him to work on a select few things while still getting daily at bats.
  10. One major league starter in Thorpe, even if he’s a #5 starter, would look like a win at this point with that putrid trade. We might not have even gotten back a prospect that will be as good as Boston Smith in hindsight.
  11. Repeating value to demonstrate that start wasn’t an aberration is still a valid concern.

0-2 with 2 errors for Roch. Kind of a rough week for him.
  13. I don’t know why but I thought tomorrow was Castillo day.

Nice outing for Sandlin. 5 scoreless with 4 hits and 6K. If only he could translate that to the majors
  15. Yesterday

  16. Crazy thing too is that he had a AAA performance earlier this summer where he hit 4 homers in one game!
  17. SWEEP THE CENTRAL!!! That’s the campaign. We have 16 in divison games remaining. I want 16 White Sox winners. We need our version of this in the clubhouse for such a movement…
  18. If pitched the best game of his wonderful career to this date doesn't say pretty good trade I don't know what will.
  19. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/articles/outgoing-lakers-owner-mark-walter-201553796.html The wildest part of all this is that Ohtani then becomes a free agent if Mark Walter is forced to sell the Dodgers... "A day after the Lakers sale was reported, The Athletic relayed that Ohtani is unlikely to terminate his deal even if Walter does sell in the near future, according to a source with knowledge of the Ohtani camp's thinking." https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/shohei-ohtani-reportedly-unlikely-to-opt-out-of-dodgers-contract-if-mark-walter-sells-team-214220251.html&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjI0tyI6qOWAxV3BUQIHdjmNusQFnoECAUQAg&usg=AOvVaw0tjhCKZKbkyrjQQES3EOnL
  20. Yup and I don’t know if San Fransisco would have bit but I suspect they would have done the deal if we threw something like Carlson, Schultz, and some filler out there.
  21. Soft-tosser whose home field is in an extreme pitchers park. We didn't get a prospect like Carlson for Cease or Crochet.
  22. Lilian would be happy
