White Sox sign RHP Seranthony Domínguez, 2/20M
Stunned? His career mark is 83. I just think some focus and reps could get him into the 80s.

Non-White Sox Off-Season Hot Stove
I wouldn't think Braden Montgomery is up any time before September, at the earliest. Tauchman would probably be the best option for this team; the devil you know, and all. He's also nice insurance against an extended Jarrod Kelenic run if Kelenic can't turn it around. I would really think the most energy should be put towards getting Baldwin, Acuña, and Pereira as much time in the lineup as possible. If Kelenic hits, he may be gone in July. If Acuña and Pereira hit, you have your outfield. BTW, from 8/2 on, Baldwin OPSed .803.

Keith Law January 2026 Rankings
I seem to remember this being an issue with Zach Collins, reading that it's a difficult thing to fix, and the Sox eventually couldn't

Keith Law's top 100 came out today. His blurb on Bonemer says he doesn't really have the arm to play on the left side of the IF, so he either winds up at 2nd base or left field. His bat will be his carrying tool. The only infielder who could possibly force the issue in the bigs this season is Antonacci. I would think somebody would have to stumble for Antonacci to get serious reps.

OD 26 Man Roster Projection
If that's the lineup, I think that Pereira platoons with Kelenic. Vs. LHP, Pereira's the RF, Acuña's CF, Baldwin's in LF. VS. RHP, Kelenic in LF, Acuña in CF, Baldwin in RF. Maybe... if somebody like Tristan Peters plays out of his head in ST, he can spell Acuña against some righties. I also think that Newcomb's going to be given every chance to start, which means Cannon doesn't make the team and Chris Murphy/Bryan Hudson/Ryan Borucki/Eisert battle to be the 2nd pen lefty.

In about 3 weeks, the 60-day IL opens up. There's really no need to start cutting guys, especially the Rule 5 dudes. They'd at least want to get a live look at them before waving goodbye. Hudson wasn't exactly lights out in his 2025 cup of coffee, and Ramos took 3 cycles through the option list and still hasn't established himself at AAA. The Sox also got a long look at Mead last year. I threw out Iriarte. Those are 4 guys who could go if they don't trade somebody this week, and if they don't wait until spring training to use the 60-day. I'd also think they'd want to hang onto Lee deeper into camp. They're going to need catchers, and the World baseball tournament's going to create a bunch of playing time. They'll need bodies. Maybe a trade of Sosa or Cannon is brewing.

I think Jairo Iriarte is probably the farthest from pitching out of the White Sox bullpen. That's an arm that would probably be grabbed right up, though. I think the Sox could just drag out the signing for 2-3 weeks, then start using the 60-day IL.

It's so hard for a team to lose 121 games. It's happened once in the history of the game. The Rockies were a worse team than the 24 Sox and still couldn't break the record. It's simple hyperbole, the same way dudes blurt out that the Sox are on their way to a 4th 100-loss season.

And the masses are stupid. I'm fairly certain we're both as unhappy with the "state of the nation" as it stands today. I can't count the number of people online who "thought" the Sox would rebreak the loss record in 2025. I sure hope they didn't bet that. Voting is free, though.

Who gives a s%*#? whining on a message board doesn't create any motivation to fire front office people, especially with JR.

And I take them both ways. Even the most cynical don't expect the White Sox to lose 100 this season, and they're betting lines, which have their own motivations. They probably skew extreme to draw in the early bettors. Thanks.

Yeah, that's the wisdom of crowds. Betting lines are set, though, and then move based on betting. Last year's ridiculous line of 49.5 wins for the White Sox eventually moved. I wouldn't rely on a prostitute sizing me up on the North Ave. bridge to assess my own value as a man.

These lines have nothing (or little) to do with where anybody thinks the Sox will wind up, but it's a magical spot that will inspire equal betting on both sides of the line to cancel each other out. The house makes money off the vig.

Arte Moreno had 2 HOFers on his team and couldn't win. He had players ODing on drugs supplied by personnel in the front office. JR is bad. He's not "the worst".

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
Apparently, Davitt was getting trade interest after the World Series, so Getz protected him. Do other teams do that? Start calling other teams asking to trade for a guy on the bubble just to head fake another team into protecting someone they didn't have to?

Let's wait until they have to trade or DFA Mead. I'm sure you'll be happy with the return or result.

But still, if we were to trade Curtis Mead, we'd still hate a market driven return, because we'd still overvalue him, and then build in Adrian Houser's peak value. Acuña cost them Scherzer. He was the lone player coming back for Max.
