  1. I've read that every Japanese hitter has issues hitting velo once the come to America. They're professional hitters. They adjust. The strikeouts concern me. I don't think they need Murakami as a core piece.
  2. I agree about the upcoming election season, and 2028 looms, also. Newsom let the A's and Raiders leave.
  3. It doesn't help anybody for the White Sox to be ruled out. Murakami to WSox helps Murakami drive up what little interest he has. It lets O'Hearn know the Sox have other options. It keeps fans refreshing Twitter and listening to insipid sports mumble programs where everything is possible. I still think an off-season of O'Hearn, Bassitt (or reasonable facsimile), Bleday (orf) and some sort of leverage bullpen dude would be an insane out-of-the-park off-season compared to what we've been prepped for.
  4. It's like cold-calling. All you need is one yes.
  5. So, this is going to be their lefty OF? He played CF the most in Durham in 2025.
  6. Passan's article on the state of the market right now: Passan's MLB free agency, trade intel on Tucker, Bregman, more - ESPN
  7. With a good GM, most of his hires will appear to be more qualified.
  8. Hahn would probably make a good contracts guy. He wasn't a good team builder and let areas atrophy under him.
  9. Now Hahn says he told JR to fire him.
  10. He tried to quit, and JR reminded him that he had a non-compete, and Reinsdorf would exercise it in every instance, or so the story goes.
  11. Larry had a kid, and I'm not sure if he was invited to make the move back to SoxMachine with Jim and the gang. He was always kind of SSS loyal, but there's really not a lot to work with, there, anymore.
  12. Ho hum. Let me know when you have something interesting to say. Other than that, this is all on the level of your "Vinny Capra is better than Shane Smith because Capra was on Milwaukee's 40-man when the Sox took Smith in the Rule 5" malarkey.
  13. Fegan reports that he'll help with player and agent relations and 40-man management.
  14. I suppose having a job is a promotion from not having a job, so technically, he's right.
  15. Sounds like Getz managed up in order to clean house, remake the entire organization. I'm sure Getz has gone over plans and budgets with Reinsdorf and has parameters he will act within. No, the job of the GM is not to force the owner of the team into bankruptcy. Rodriguez was Asst GM in TB, and he's asst GM here. A good boss is confident hiring people more knowledgeable and experienced than they are. When you resort to name-calling, you lose credibility. You should incorporate that fact into your Ted-talk.
  16. They must have erased those posts. I don't see anything like what he described.
  17. You're still referencing a period of time that I'm asserting Getz didn't have the resources to run a modern development program. I'm not sure of the point you're making. We all know that the Sox were woefully behind on tech and R&D.
  18. Okay, JR stopped it. I'm not sure how that makes me whatever dumb joke you keep flogging.
  19. The Burger and Sheets situations happened during the COVID season when teams were restricted to the number of players who could participate at team facilities. It's weird how you know the whole story except key context, or are you just being dishonest? The Sox supported Burger playing in an independent league, then finally made room for him. As for the rest, nobody disputes that the Sox were pathetically behind the rest of the league in tech and brain-power. Please explain how that meshes with KW/Hahn/Haber giving Getz the freedom to go rogue and build his own development empire when the rest of the org wasn't up to speed.
