  1. You mean there's another level of pissed beyond just disagreeing?
  2. Just don't offend Satan. You'll be seeing him for a long, long time.
  3. Well if Acuña learns how to hit lefties and righties, he can be a long term solution. He can't get better without the at-bats.
  4. How is Acuña's supposed to get better against left-handed pitchers?
  5. Why's Antonacci in? The pitcher's a righty. Everybody's screaming he should only play against lefties.
  6. The same logic applies to Romo, then. Romo must start as much as possible so he can get better.
  7. Don't know, don't care. Everybody seemed really hung up on the 100-loss seasons. 100-losses to playoffs has happened a few times. There's nothing wrong with the trade performance. He upgraded catcher, the bullpen, CF and one rotation spot.
  8. He's also a switch hitter, which gives him an advantage against some LHPs.
  9. I think MLBTR sums up the situation, nicely. Cardinals Claim Everson Pereira - MLB Trade Rumors
  10. I'm keeping my mouth shut until our acquisition makes it out of the 4th inning tonight.
  11. And he does get ABs against lefties. What do we have to do to get people to acknowledge that?
  12. Okay Castillo, you can inspire a lot of man-crushes today...
  13. I really liked the idea of Pereira. I am saddened to see him DFAed. Doyle is a guy. That seems like a very risky move, coupled with the Pereira DFA. It straddles "balls in a wheel barrow" and pure hubris. As the late Mayor Harold Washington had said, "You know what Hubris is, don't you? That's audacity....Gone Wild!"
  14. The Rays would have to play out of their heads to be declared AL Central champs. LOL.
  15. There's also the datapoint of how many players can the glum ones claim to have "been in on from the start"
  16. Also, not catching 5 days a week might have something to do with it, too.
  17. The Astros woke up and have gone 12-2 in their last 14. The AL wasn't going to stay broke all season.
  18. Boston Smith has homered for the Arkansas Travelers.
  19. The Rockies gave away Doyle for free.
  20. Since COVID, Pereira's never played more than 102 games in a season. I don't know if that's from platooning, or what. He was a top 70 prospect, so the Yankees must have prioritized him for a couple seasons. Teel doesn't really enter the conversation. They have a bunch of RHH outfielders. They're not going to cut Kyle Teel to make room for Joey Bart. Grichuk does what Hays should have been doing. The front office seems to think Doyle's a better upside play than Pereira.
