Sox Machine on teams pitching depth...
The Sox have played 72 games. They're 38-34 with 90 games left. If they play .500 ball the rest of the way (with the hardest stretch of the season out of the way), that's 83 wins. 86 wins has made the post-season from the AL 3 of the last 4 seasons.

Sox Machine on teams pitching depth...
I agree with this, but if they're still handling mid teams, winning at home, and getting blown out by the Yankees in NYC, that could still very well be a playoff team this season. I don't think they'll load up with Skubal, Rosario and Alcantara late July. Pick up Robbie Ray, catch lightning with Mason Adams, and we get to buy some first round playoff gear this winter.

I'd imagine there's a couple of guys other orgs could find interesting who might be topping out in ours. Bergolla, if he ever gets back on the field. Whatever noise last offseason that made Getz put Duncan Davitt on the 40-man might still be there. Tony DiPino and Colby Shelton are dudes. We're not going after Tarik Skubal, so guys from #8-15 could be enough to get that type that looks like a tweak away from being something, or whatnot. Tomoyuki Sugano or Robbie Ray shouldn't really cost anything. Detmers or Jose Soriano should be the tier right behind Skubal, but Artie Moreno may think they're another Anthony Rendon away from glory, so they might be asking the Sun, the Moon and the Stars for them.

White Sox - Injury Tracker
Of course they did. It was a great effort, but this guy has to log a couple of innings in a Sox uniform, even if it kills him.

Play reviews involving NY teams should be done in Chicago.- Noah Schultz & Kyle Teel set to begin rehab assignments next week
I've never heard a version where they said they had to "convince" Reinsdorf. It always sounded like Murakami took them over their initial budget, they did JR the courtesy of letting him know, along with doing a bunch of homework to answer any questions he might have. One of Getz's first interviews on it, he said that Reinsdorf was on board before they got very far into their meeting.- White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
They chose Zack Collins, swing hitch, and all, and they were never able to work with him to correct his mechanics. Getz was probably looking at Jacob Gonzalez not upgrading his own mechanics and decided the infrastructure in place wasn't equipped to do the same work with Konnor Griffin.- Noah Schultz & Kyle Teel set to begin rehab assignments next week
Cool story, bro, but the guy found his folded up sweater on top of Resurrection Mary's head stone the next day in the version I heard.- Noah Schultz & Kyle Teel set to begin rehab assignments next week
I read this article twice, through. It seems to talk about flying space ships around the moon about as many times as they mention "persuading" Reinsdorf, which is zero. Is there another article that covers how Getz and Boyer approached Reinsdorf on their knees, beseeching him to allow them to sign a baseball player, or is that somehow inferred between the lines?- Hagen Smith - Shoulder Impingement
I guess we can blame his recent, bad outing on this.- GT 6/16 Sox @ Yankees 6:05 (CDT)
- At what point do we start to believe?
I started out thinking this was a 77-78 win team, to feeling better about .500+, to now thinking they actually have a shot with this offense to make the playoffs. Looking at the injuries around the league, I start thinking there's a lot of green in front of the White Sox. They're dealing with the roughest stretch and looking like they could come away from the Phils, Braves, Dodgers, Yankees, Guards and Tigers over .500 for that stretch. Then the schedule gets easier. Then they get Mune and Teel back. Then some of their starting pitching depth should be throwing and percolating up to the parent club. Then they have depth to deal from to shore up the rotation and bullpen. I don't want them to blow it all up for one post-season run, but they certainly have the horses and depth to make an interesting go of it.- At what point do we start to believe?
I always cringe when a player leaves, and the dialog is "they just lost 25 HR. Where are they going to get those 25 HRs from, now?" Production comes in different shapes. It's pretty stark when Mune goes down, and the team kind of morphs to become a slightly different mode of run production.- Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
I'd imagine they're working with him to adapt his stance and swing changes to the big-league game, not unlike Acuña. He's got to put the ball in the air, more. We'd get pounced on for mentioning Mark Grace or Hosmer as dudes who didn't need to be big HR hitters at 1B. I think Tony DiPino would have something to say about Gonzo as the fallback in the case of Murakami bolting for LA, but Gonzo's definitely in the convo.- Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
I'd like to see an actual heater before I declare him a perennial All-Star, but there is a reason for his rebirth on offense. You're ignoring the numbers that underlie his Charlotte success. Long-term answer at 1B seems to be a bit of a stretch, but 5th/rotating infielder/DH looks plausible if he can OPS .780 and hit you 15+ HR/162.- 6/14 GT Sox vs. Dodgers 1:10 (CDT)

Um, are these people telling you how to "fan" in the room with us now? I have no idea what TexSox and Ptac have to do with this discussion. Yes, Celtic fans should be rooting against their team being dunked on. I really don't get you guys rooting for other teams to take the Sox' lunch money, then shaming everybody else because another team took the Sox' lunch money. You're basically rooting for the Sox to get cucked so that you can appear to be superior to everyone else here. How about you smack yourself in the balls with a hammer, then shame yourself in the mirror? I'm fine rooting against a no hitter. You don't get grist for the mill. - GT 6/16 Sox @ Yankees 6:05 (CDT)
