8/11 Sox vs. Rojos. Peace Be With You, 6:40 CHSN
I dated a born again as a teen. Boy, do they have some things to say about the idolization of Mother Mary, and all the statues.

You can wear it to Sunday mass.

Sox interested in Jorge Mateo
He can tell Davis Martin how he was tipping his pitches.

Be prepared to cry tears of rage when Nikku Rishida needs to be DFAed to accomodate this.

How do we feel about the Tim Anderson retirement game
You'll never guess who hit a home run for Baltimore... Nope. Uhh...no, not him. Good guess, but no.

Antonacci's coming up on playing his most games in a season. He's appeared in 97 of the 100 games the White Sox played since he was called up. The best time to get him any rest for a game probably isn't a game that a RHP starts. So they give him a breather against some lefties. Sitting Antonacci is also about getting Grichuk playing time to keep him ready.

The Red Sox have lost 3 in a row.

Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA
Right. Players can't be placed on our 26-man roster unless they're actually in our organization. I didn't think this needed to be spelled out so plainly, but here we are.

We're also 3 weeks away from expanding rosters.- Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA
Because Gilbert, in his present state, is more of a realistic option for the big league bullpen, in an emergency, than Wikelman Gonzalez is.- Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA
I can, because it has been. The fact that players get DFAed when there are no other teams who want to trade for them isn't "bad roster management". The fact that somebody like Wikelman Gonzalez made it all the way down to the Marlins means that more than half the league (who probably have shitty records, in part, because of a lack of credible bullpen arms) - passed on him. He got injured. He's probably overweight. He hasn't snapped back to his 2025 form after recovering. They took a flier on him and he didn't work out. Next. I really can't understand the people who, after every single DFA of a guy who just didn't work out, kneel down on the ground, cry, and shake their fists at the sky.- Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA
I would love for any of you people to tell me about this dream organization you keep comparing the White Sox to that converts even 50% of the players that enter their organization. The reason that teams maintain 6 minor league teams isn't because they imagine MLB will expand rosters to 200 players at some point, and they'll have 200 All-Stars suiting up soon.- Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA
And you can sign a journeyman to be whatever Wikelman is. This isn't that hard.- Off-day Pitchfork Thread
I believe he's talking about how the Sox could have had Keaschul for Fedde straight up right there.- Off-day Pitchfork Thread
I'm sure you'll tell me how I just called you a name and gaslit you by moving the goalposts.- FutureSox Mid-Season Top 30
2027 will be Keller's first full draft class. Carlos Vielma was signed this year. So Keller did well to bring a future Hall-of-Famer into the organization.- FutureSox Mid-Season Top 30
Who are you looking at? MLB hasn't even put the 2026 draft prospects in the top 30s yet.- Off-day Pitchfork Thread
Dude, I didn't write a listicle that I'm sending to Oslo for a Nobel Prize. It's a random list of mid-pitchers they worked with and have found success with. Some pitchers respond to a new system, others don't.- Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA
Because if they get a couple of key injuries at the same time, Joe Rock is probably a more workable option than a not-100%, under-performing Wikelman Gonzalez.- Off-day Pitchfork Thread
Pitchers brought along by the coaching staff who are having consistent success. Did the staff develop Newcomb? Should Davis Martin be included as someone who is enjoying regular, consistent success right now?- Off-day Pitchfork Thread
Oppor has developed the yips. That's sports psychology. I'd love to hear what exactly Bannister "did" to Hagen and Schultz that he needs to be "blamed" for. They're trying to make their deliveries repeatable and keep them healthy.- How do we feel about the Tim Anderson retirement game
The Sox had a little walk-in museum behind home plate for a while. I don't remember much more than they had a bunch of old uniforms in chronological order.- How do we feel about the Tim Anderson retirement game
Non-a-hole code says you shouldn't put your friends in the position of keeping secrets from their wives. 😃- Off-day Pitchfork Thread
It's been thoroughly discussed here a few times. He's the Director of Pitching for the org. He's not logging pitches in the Kannapolis dugout. He pow-wows with Getz about what type of traits they should be scouting the waiver wire for that are easy to accentuate or work with. He might show up to Arizona to watch Christian Oppor throw a few sides, but he's not a coach, anymore. He sets policies with Getz, scouting and the stats dudes on what to pursue and develop. - Sox interested in Jorge Mateo
