  1. Maybe the Rays' GM was like, "We're so ready to trade you our best pitcher, and we'll take a package centered around Pereira and Romo. Could you get them a start today so we can make sure they're the guys we want?"
  2. When you're at the doctor's for tests, and all, one thing they tell you is to keep off the internet. Don't start Googling terms or symptoms because you'll drive yourself crazy. It's got to suck to be a mom, get curious, and start scrolling Twitter, fretting every dipshit's mock trade.
  3. I agree with Jim Margalus' take: With Luis Castillo, the White Sox return to buying, but not on the surest of bets - Sox Machine I fell in love with the prospect of Boston Smith. I wanted Houser, then Mead to turn into something valuable. They still may. I'm trusting the process that has this team playing about 15 wins ahead of where everyone thought they'd be.
  4. ...because the asking for starting pitching is as insane as reported...?
  5. I'm not hating it. Basically trading a somewhat fixed Seranthony, a minor league free agent, and Boston Smith. I didn't want to give up Smith, but he's a bat, not really a catcher, yet.
  6. Don't know this account. Cardinal fan.
  7. Just for reference, in 2024, Getz made the Vargas trade the day before the deadline, and 3 smaller trades on deadline day. Last year, he moved Austin Slater the day before, and Houser day of. I don't think I need to keep refreshing Twitter until tomorrow evening.
  8. I think Adley Rutschmann.
  9. They probably had a deal in theory with Thome before they even made the trade. They had to get that pick because the Yankees were rumored to want him at 35. They wanted him AND his discount they already knew he'd give.
  10. B. Smith only concentrated on catching in his last year of college, where he caught 44 games (if memory serves). I think he's got a couple years of starting in the minors before he's regarded as an accomplished catcher.
  11. I'm sure Getz is ready to accept that nice prospect for Jon Cannon. He's practicing saying yes in front of a mirror.
  12. He's pissed at being passed over in the Adam Eaton trade.
  13. That sounds like an 8-0 White Sox victory. Schultz goes 5.
  14. Well, if you're eating beaver, I'd stick to a fine Shiraz to cut the gamey taste. Don't mix wine and beer.
  15. Peters has hit the ball well a couple of times.
