  1. I'm not a Grifol fan. I don't watch every game, but it's funny how, coming out of the negative echo chamber, here, and reentering reality, I actually thought yesterday was a pretty well managed game. Some moves worked great, some didn't. That's baseball. I honestly don't understand the people who have to crap all over those who just want to enjoy the game, then talk about it.
  2. Uh, yes, I'm "chicken" to make any binding bet with a guy whose goalposts are always moving, and doesn't even know the definition of words. Why don't you post your casino bet ticket at the value of your house that the Sox won't cover the over on 42 wins? You love to pretend you're the baseball savant. go bet the money, and post a copy of your ticket. Otherwise, STFU. i will not be joining you, as I'm not a moron, and don't sports bet.
  3. It's weird that nobody's taking "ban bets" on the "Oh noes!! The White Sox won't win 30 games." Or even the "historically bad" statements. Y'all engage in hyperbole every single day. Please show the tickets where you put up your house for the Sox to not exceed 42 wins. That would give any of the braying idiots any credibility.
  4. I don't bet. I'm not sure why I would commit to some outcome based on a "if this guy does this, then..." statement. Do you bet a lot? I'm guessing you do.
  5. Dude, every single baseball player doesn't need to be A-Rod in his prime. Sheets won't get starter at-bats, but if he puts up 1.5-2 bWAR this season, that's great. Daniel Vogelbach is a comparison, and we'll never sniff the money he's made hitting a home run every now and then. That aside, Sheets is probably a way better overall hitter and athlete than Vogelbach ever dreamed of being.
  6. It's an actual thing. That's why pitching coaches are so stingy about who they want to get up and warm up. Have you read Ball Four? Teams didn't understand knuckleballs. Bouton needed practice throwing a knuckler, and the pitching coaches wouldn't give him baseballs, because they didn't want him to wear out.
  7. And then you will continue to post from your 0 pWAR (posting WAR) hot streak about it, and even when he ends up with a moderately productive season, you'll still lie about it and pretend he hijacked the team plane and crashed it. I need a buzz. Pepsi, Monster, Red Bull all work. Hurry up. They're talking about higher powers.
  8. Whaaa? Jose Valentin was well above average major leaguer in 4 of his 5 season on the Sox. Are you saying you don't want Gavin Sheets to become a very productive player on the Sox?
  9. So you're saying that our future 1st-baseman should be Andrew Vaughn? Blink twice if this is a yes.
  10. We're all just enjoying the 3-hit night. Sounds like you need a congressman with an armed escort to fly down to where you're stationed.
  11. You know that relievers go through a whole routine of warming up, right? Like if they warm up, it's like they pitched?
  12. Well, I'm standing outside the church with one ciggie and they only have seltzer in the soda machine. Get here fast.
  13. Hey, our "Personal Attacks Anonymous" meeting you suggested for me starts in ten minutes. You want to join? Bring smokes and cokes.
  14. My wife would walk in during the Hawk & Wimpy heyday, and call them completely inane.
  15. Grifol's like a bank robbery turned hostage situation. Yoan down because there was no mayo on the sandwiches. Then he intentionally walks Will Brennan because Chris Getz hesitated when answering about the helicopter. Grifol's just insane, at this point.
  16. I'm not sure why Tanner Banks couldn't have pitched the next inning and faced the 10 lefties who were lined up.
  17. I don't agree, but my wife came in when his inning started and said, "that is not a young man".
  18. I don't know. Maybe he's saying thank you for finally being civil. Moncada and Kopech might just clear 20 WAR. I may have jumped out too far on this one. One of them could bust out and give you 20 War in 6 years. Maybe between the other two and Wilson, if everything breaks right, you get another 20-25.
  19. C'mon, Mark. You know what I'm saying. This is what they've spent their entire lives preparing to do. Of course nobody's going to have to study for a real estate license this winter.
  20. The return for Cease will probably churn out triple the production of the return for Sale. That, and I think that's the model for trades, going forward, in the Getz era. If you're getting a top twenty prospect in the game, you're buying high on a guy you don't have to develop, rather than a guy who needs a little correction, and he's top 20 with a bullet.
  21. You can't be moved to the 60-day unless you have a full 40-man, and you're trying to add somebody to the roster. They could put Yoan on the 60-day if they were going to add somebody who isn't in the 40-man, like Mendick or whatnot.
  22. I'm so ready for this. I mean, Eloy, Robert and Yoan must be suicidal at this point. This is their lives. But if a bunch of knuckleheads on a chat board could come up with "work with a baseball trainer and do yoga" in an afternoon, why can't a guy whose multi-million dollar paydays depend on it come up with that?
  23. Of course I'm not joking. 3 years would be year 4 of a rebuild. Any team in any situation could turn things around in 5 years, and almost be there in 4. I'm guessing Chris Getz has more baseball smarts than Hahn did, and is not as impulsive as KW. I'm not saying he's the savior, or anything, but he's Michigan business school, too, right? So he's not a dummy. He might have some weird notions, or whatnot, but he starts out with a couple of tradable stars, a couple good prospects - he's already on his way.
  24. Kevin Hart just tried to have a foot race with a retired RB a couple months ago, tore his abductor muscle, and wound up in a wheel chair. I contend these guys are such specimens their bodies can't support what their muscles can do.
  25. He'd still be trying to hit his way out of AA. But I suppose we could indulge ourselves for another year while Yoan hits the 60-day.
