I trust that Getz is trying to change the culture here. I also trust that there might be key people he worked with in KC who recognizes were good at their jobs, and he thinks they could be a step up, here. I don't think that Getz locks eyes with a person who worked at KC, they turn into zombies and start droning, "Must fail!! Must fail!!" I'm sure these guys also tell people in their life they're implementing workflow and skills from other jobs that improve the new place. Again, it's like we're pretending that anybody who ever worked at Sears or Kmart should never work again. They bring fail along with them.

I wonder if the people who complain about the Royal hires ever worked for a garbage company. Do you now consider yourself unemployable because you worked under a shady or incompetent boss? Like, when you were 24, your boss was a spaz, and a bad manager. Do you ask prospective employers to take into mind that you were trained to fail when you interview? I think the complainers should post their resumes and highlight the part that asks to be paid the minimum allowable because you will inevitably fail at your job, and put all the wrong procedures into place at their company.

Those two being Carlos Jorge and Sammy Stafura, neither of whom have made anybody's top 100 list. Jorge is at a-ball, so he has room to grow. Stafura just had a meh year in 12 games of rookie ball, so I wouldn't really call him "fringe top 100". At some point, I think there's going to be 4 pages of arguments over the meaning of the word "is".

I request that we start a new thread where Sports Guy just keeps repeating that there is no chance any team meets the initial demands of Getz. Nobody knows what the initial demands are (or were), and nobody knows if they will be met. We most probably will never know. I'm really disappointed none of you Baltimore guys knew my reference to Governor Shaefer's derogatory comment about the Eastern Shore.

I'm not sure why what basically amounts to a sticker price offends you, so. It seems to make you angry that the White Sox won't start negotiations by saying they'll take a package headlined by a slightly younger Nicky Lopez and a bunch of garbage. You seem to believe that fans of other teams don't have the right to be positive about possible trades. I really don't know what your point is beyond, maybe, a new year's resolution to spend all of 2024 on a White Sox board not making sense.

Or some teams tried to jump the line before Snell and Monty come off the board. Or Yanks trying to head fake a couple other teams to move on to plan B. It's weird how it's only NY reporters saying that. Maybe that's also tied into Yankee fans screaming on Twitter about Spencer Jones moving in a potential Cease deal. Probably a lot of info being thrown at NY sports media.

And it's probably the more experienced front offices trying to distract Getz through the media. Other teams did that to Kenny Williams when he first started as GM. Accusing him of not being forthright about injuries, and not following through on trades when KW foolishly acquired Edwin Jackson to spin on to the Nationals in trade. Getz has probably been in on most of the moves we've made in the last 3-1/2 years. When Cease eventually gets moved, nobody will care about the original ask.

Oh. A local writer had it as Lowder, Petty, and 2 guys not in the top 100. So, yeah. That was most probably a counter that no one would accept so Getz and his people could regroup and reassess. They announced they would not continue talks until the major free agents came off the market. I mean, when people talk about Getz's ask, it's like they expect the league to ban him for a year for asking a high price.

Looking at the rumored ask of the Reds...it's really not that crazy. Maybe the 3rd & 4th pieces could be a bit ambitious, but Lowder and Petty feel about right.

This particular Tweet doesn't really mean anything beyond a reference. But there seem to be a bunch of Yankee fans screaming about including Spencer Jones in a package for Dylan Cease. Has there been some reported rumor or strategic leak about this?

The Sox were roundly lauded for picking him 4th. He's been one of the more productive 1st rounders from that 1st round. Nico Hoerner has put up the highest bWAR (11.6).

I loved the original FutureSox, and am looking forward to James' version. I already subscribe and will up my membership. This is truly a worthy investment for any Sox fan wanting to know who's around the bend in our system.
