  1. I'm not really picking on your post, and I know I'm combining commenters, here, but I just can't reconcile the aversion to having a guy like Sosa "figure it out" at 1B, and the calls for Colson and Baldwin to "figure it out" in the bigs. Rookies make mistakes.
  2. Both Vasil and Shane Smith have spent 90 days on the active 26-man roster, so if either one went on the IL for the rest of the season, they'd still revert to the Sox with 3 options at the end of the year.
  3. People scream about how Colson needs to learn the major league game in the majors. Well, Lenyn Sosa playing 2B is what that looks like. When he has a brain fart, he's "boneheaded" and has "low baseball IQ". No, he's a 2nd year player learning at the speed of the major league game.
  4. That's my thought. It's not like he has a finite number of hits to his name, and he's using them all up in the minor leagues. It's good for him to play out of the spotlight of the bigs and learn the game. Hell, every player comes up, boots a couple of balls, and suddenly he has "poor baseball IQ", or "development didn't prepare him for the majors". It's 2 weeks to the All-Star Game/draft, then 2 more weeks to the trade deadline. I'd be good with him coming up Aug 1 or Sept 1. Preserve his rookie status so he can win AL ROY, AL MVP and World Series MVP next year.
  5. More Chris Getz scouting magic:
  6. Yeah, dude's OPSing over .900 since his return. People like to look at an 8 game period where he got 3 hits and declare that indicative of his complete output. It's like most online fandom is declaring world-renowned brilliance after every 0-4 batting line.
  7. SoxMachine game story: White Sox 5, Giants 2: Uneven June ends on high note - Sox Machine
  8. Maybe the Giants were looking ahead to their series in Arizona. On this 6 game homestand, only the first game against the D-backs (10-0) got out of hand. Every other game was winable.
  9. Of course. But if there's zero trade interest and Robert plays out the string with the beloved, not picking up that option is a no-brainer, regardless of the labor situation.
  10. The correct answer is that there is absolutely no way JR should approve picking up a $20M contract for Robert's numbers over the last 2 years. That amount of money could actually get them a tweener coming off an off year, looking for a show-me deal to rehab his value.
  11. Whatever. You'll be back on the Vargas bandwagon after the next 3 game hitting streak and acting like he's your boy-eee.
  12. Because Steven Wilson's the last bullpen arm available, and they only want him to throw one inning?
  13. And then you come back, and Gilbert starts clogging up the bases.
  14. Enjoy the Teel bandwagon. As soon as he ties a couple of 0-4's together, you'll be jumping off and bragging you always knew he was garbage.
  15. Michael A. Taylor would easily outplay me. The catcher would have had to run up the line some to tag me out.
  16. Notes on Cannon and Martin, Palisch cleared waivers and Robert to the IL. Pregame notes: Jonathan Cannon returns to rotation, Luis Robert Jr. returns to IL - Sox Machine Oh, and didn't someone say this earlier?
  17. Michael A. Taylor is the better CF right at this moment. Robert is a bench bat until he proves otherwise.
  18. I'd say it's gotta be Tyler Gilbert or Wikelman Gonzalez.
  19. I will be. I'm clicking on "ignore".
  20. Or guys who post the exact same thing multiple times a day in every single string.
  21. You mean because they're going to trade him? OMFG!!! ROTFLMFAO!!!! That's a good one!!!!
