  1. I would expect a full rebuild to take around 5 years. You are arguing that the Sox should have traded Robert for a substandard return after the 2023 season. Getz did just that with Cease, and you still scream about it. And really, Aaron Bummer wasn't a setup man at that point, and Gregory Santos was the guy who was napping in the bullpen.
  2. I went back to look at your posts during the 2023-2024 offseason, but they only start around Christmas. I'm guessing you got banned under a previous moniker for screaming that the White Sox should have traded Robert, Yoan and Eloy right then, and nobody could handle how right you were. LOL.
  3. And some here whined about the Crochet trade because Getz was only able to pry 2 of Boston's top 5 prospects away.
  4. Yes. We do now. At the time? He was an All-Star with 4 years of cheap control.
  5. Robert contributed a win and a half each of the last two years. Trading him certainly doesn't create a hole in the lineup.
  6. I feel seen. Looks like I've pretty much had every take, so which one is the turn? I argue against the "Getz always fails" narrative. Yes, as we look back in the comfort of retrospect, we can ascertain the perfect moment to make the perfect move. I wish they got more for Robert. Is anybody claiming that Getz turned down a demonstrably better package for Robert because he's just plain stupid, and fell in love with a pile of garbage instead of opting for the higher ceiling alternative? This is most probably what Robert has been worth for over a year, now. I'm relieved we're not on injury watch.
  7. No, Getz turned a diminished asset into a younger 84 RC+ version of himself. I'm not sure how to express that as an anal sex metaphor.
  8. It was a mandate from the market. Nobody has any faith in Robert.
  9. I guess this is due
  10. Colbern, Hoffman, Robertson? White Sox Future Stars | Cardboard Gods
  11. No, actually, they should have extended Robert after 2023 for 20 years at $40M per. Prove me wrong.
  12. We basically traded Michael A. Taylor for a package. Learn to be happy.
  13. "Last year" isn't "now".
  14. Or, sending money didn't get them much more interest.
  15. At least as a Harvard grad, he'll have a "high baseball IQ".
  16. Maybe they'll extend Kelenic.
  17. Acuña
  18. "This" vs. nothing. I'll take it.
  19. Gee, sounds like there's a mystery bunch of players who would take the place of the current group. Or maybe a mystery league. Owners, agents and the media have taught us to just ignore all this BS posturing. There will be an interruption of play, or there won't. I'm more worried if I'll be able to take a leak in my first 5 minutes of standing in front of the toilet tonight at 3 in the morning.
  20. Meaningless ESPN listicle outlining what AL Central teams have done so far, and what remains. The Sox still need a veteran OF in their eyes. What's next for Tigers, Guardians, Twins, Royals, White Sox - ESPN
  21. I think that writers putting their ballots out there has taken away the 10th vote for guys like Gio Gonzalez.
  22. Or a guy like Gonsolin knows what his ceiling is, and wants to be paid for his upside, accordingly.
  23. Black Sox ringleader Arnold "Chick" Gandil born on this date in 1888.
  24. Here's my story: My parents owned a deli. On Saturdays, my Dad would give us money, each, to go to the Metro on Belmont, and buy a toy. My older brother would con us to use our money to buy baseball cards. So we'd open the packs. My older brother and sister would grab up the Ron Santo, Billy Williams and Ernie Banks cards. When I cried hard enough, my brother gave me the Rich Morales and Wilbur Wood cards, telling me that they were also Chicago players. I never looked back.
