No bait. Really, when was the last "house-cleaning"? The David Wilder stuff? Maybe at the beginning or end of Larry Himes' run? Schueller begat Kenny, who begat Hahn. I know y'all want to say that Getz is a continuation of the old guard, but he's "cleaned house". It's not like they're changing the entire top tier every 5 years.

Adler went to Birmingham.
-
Brent Morel was a guy I wanted to be more than he turned out to be. 3rd rounder.
-
You mean, like, the chairs and the rolodex are forcing bad decisions?
-
I thought all the big brains here have declared that fans will not buy tickets to watch any players short of a 9 figure signing. They even laugh at the notion.
-
Yeah, "BWaaaahahaha, you posted on Twitter things about the White Sox" doesn't seem to be quite the sick burn as intended. You avoided posting nudes, or creeping on female journalists, so wins all around. LOL. That seemed kind of doxxy, but the real villains here are those who won't join in and mope over Chris Getz being employed.
-
And he's on pace for 2 bWAR (average major leaguer), just on his defense, not counting the offensive changes he's made which seem to have given him a bit of a bump. Dude seems coachable and durable. And then, there's Jeral Perez who's a shortstop hitting HRs like Elko. What's not to like? But you seem to be deflecting from Hayes obviously saying he thought that IF the Twins were to do a deal with the White Sox, it might be for Keaschul. But nothing got close. He never reported that Keaschul was offered for Fedde. I understand if you're too embarrassed to admit to either getting it wrong, or wish-casting.
-
"I think...if they wanted to do something like that, it would have been surrounding Luke Keaschul ... talks didn't advance at all." - Dan Hayes (starting at the 26 second mark) Yeah, I can see how you got that wrong. I mean, he totally said that HE THOUGHT THAT IF THEY WERE TO PURSUE A TRADE... Maybe you just didn't click your heels the right number of times when you wished it was true.
-
No, actually, in spring training. You can't seem to get anything right. And nothing changed for the Sox with me. I predicted 54 wins, and still feel that. It's a rebuild, and I can accept that. I'm sorry that humiliates you.
-
Am I supposed to respond to your fantasy that Keaschul was crying actual tears because of a trade rumor?
-
I don't see an article. Oh, I get it. It's a pretend article.
-
What argument? I'm just reminding you of the things you've said you wanted. I'm chilly-willy, dude. And if I was your grandpa, my son would have known better than to have raised a kid who trolls as poorly as you do.
-
You misrepresented what he reported, dug in and argued that what Hayes actually said (his name "was mentioned"), meant that an actual trade offer was made and rejected by Getz, in the face of rational people explaining that most probably wasn't what happened. That's why you're silly to have pretended to believe it.
-
And most of those players are guys you screamed that you want getting at bats. Meidroth, Quero, Elko, Vargas, Baldwin, Sosa, Taylor. I'm sure Chris Getz would just say, "You're welcome".
-
I did call the 2024 opening day bullpen lockdown once or twice. Yes I did. I will not deny that. You did want Michael A. Taylor, and screamed about it all last year. Now you finally have him on your team. I'm sure Chris Getz would just say, "You're welcome". And while we're on silly things we've said, have you accepted that Luke Keaschal was never on the table for Fedde? Or are you still living out that fantasy?
-
Well, you can get MLB.tv, and watch Canario ride the bench for Pittsburgh, then strike out when the team needs a hit. Then you could turn on the Sox game and see the whole starting lineup hit better than Canario. Best of both worlds. I'm sure Chris Getz would just say, "You're welcome."
-
Jones was AAA CF depth who offered elite defense. There's nothing to "try", or "defend". It was a fine pickup for what it was. Maybe Pittsburgh just fired their manager because he wasn't highlighting Canario in their new high-powered offense. LOL.
-
And Julks is killing it offensively, right now. About as good as Tim Elko was. It's a rebuild. If you guys are laying down on the sidewalk and crying because Gage Workman didn't get more at bats, then I don't see why Corey Julks couldn't get a month on the parent club. See here's the difference. When pressed, I said I'd be fine with Corey Julks as the weak half of a platoon. I didn't post multiple times in multiple threads every day that Julks was the answer to every question in baseball, then screaming that Getz sucked for not doing the thing I just made up that I was demanding. Canario sucks. Admit it, and move on. Seriously, you should be writing letters to Chris Getz thanking him for his wisdom in not acquiring Canario. I don't think you could take watching one of your weird, off-the-wall, designed to suck moves night after night.
-
Now imagine an absolutely worthless Greg Jones that you had to keep on your 26-man roster forever!! LMFAO!! That's what the Pirates have and that's what you wanted us to have to watch every night. I'm sure the Pirates are too afraid to admit a mistake to DFA Canario. At least Getz was brave enough to take the heat and move his mistakes off the 40-man.
-
Canario was the only "savior" on the horizon for many here for a long while. A couple still speak longingly of him, as if he's still the key to a winning season. I think that if Getz was foolish to offer any of Fletcher, Colas, DeLoach or Julks for Canario, the Pirates would jump at the opportunity to dump Canario. Weird how he's not leading the league in HRs.
-
Who knows? Maybe in his first batting cage session, Workman Face-timed his agency coaches, and they were too argumentative to get anything done. We've seen meddling agents mess up a player's development before. Besides, you're making fun of the White Sox for moving on too quickly, inferring that they can't coach the players they have. Why do you want them to take on a bigger problem and throw hundreds of at bats at it?
-
Then it's a good thing they didn't pick up Canario to take on 120 strikeouts and lose even worse than they're already doing. Who's the next piece of garbage you want the White Sox to start for the next 120 games while you scream he was the worst pickup in history? LOL.
-
If that's the case, then a Rule 5 pick who has strike out issues and gets hurt making errors certainly wasn't going to turn the franchise around. Good thing they figured him out quick and moved on. I sure would hate for Workman to be taking Trajekt machine time away from the next minor leaguer that everybody's going to start screaming needs to be up on the majors now.
-
I don't see that as a "problem". The heart of the problem is that they don't have scores of prospects at the higher levels to fill the rolls. So they're piecing together a team from the waiver wire, cheap free agents and low level trades. The fact that it's seen as a problem has people screaming for slugs like Canario to come in and strike out every at bat so they can scream about what a horribly scouted move Getz made. It's a rebuild. This is what a rebuild looks like.
-
There's a bunch yelling for the Sox to pick up waiver dudes, try them, and if they can't cut it, DFA them. I agree that from what they saw, it may have looked like too big a jump from AA to the bigs, and Elko kind of forced their hand. Maybe they saw an opportunity to sneak him through waivers, and knew Detroit wasn't interested. Who knows?
