Renovations to Ballpark
This looks like it's all part of the Bullpen Sports Bar, just expanded all the way up to the 100 concourse.

Joc Pederson: ???
WSD is now what, like 1 for 25? Congrats on the Shields hit there pal ?
-
Joc Pederson: ???
800+ OPS CF at only $5 million with 2 years control..... With those three names we have listed I'd say at least 25 other teams could get in line to beat that.

No kidding, and we've had plenty of speculative craziness this entire off-season.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
I'd like to be in the minds of the remaining free agent class. Folks have to be scared at this point.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
Buster's report is so far off. It's BS that MSM folks are allowed to get away with this fake shit all in order to sway things towards their interests.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
Based on what?

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
I don't see any possible way any team gets both. You're talking $600 million / $70 million per. Minimum Neither of these guys are taking a hair cut.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
This indeed. They need to finally get an actual bidding way to figure out where this is going to end. Sox putting out the only legit (lowball) offer is not how this was going to end. Unfortunately, it's the only offer so far.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
How is that a scoop?

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
Manny has to be waiting on the this Phillies meeting with Harper. It would be dumb for him not to. Sox fans have to hope Phillies are able to make the Harper deal happen this weekend.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
He's not getting that $300 million deal. At least not with the two teams that remain in pursuit.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
Or who's to say Machado doesn't say screw it and I'll just sign a 1 year $35 million deal for a team of my choice. Try Free Agency again next season.

Is anyone else embarrassed and somewhat worried about the lengths White Sox going to get Machado?
It does concern me that you are a catering a bit too much on the personnel aspect to get him. You don't want to have him walk into that locker room thinking he owns it like a Sammy Sosa. Plus you have a micro-manager in Renteria who doesn't play favoritism.

Sox Sign Jon Jay; 1 year/$4 mil, Charlie Tilson DFA'd
All money equal, the Sox are still ahead with how crazy high the NY tax is.
-
Sox Sign Jon Jay; 1 year/$4 mil, Charlie Tilson DFA'd
This better be a Machado Caddie request. I'd much rather take my lumps with either Cordell /Engel in another lost season if no Machado. Hell, go get Denard Span if we desperately need a 1 year stopgap.

This guy is getting more Hayleys than Rodman did.

Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
I truly think the Sox cannot go into 2019 looking at this as another "Tank Season." An effort needs to be made to at least attempt to start winning more games. It's part of the development process for these young players, start winning baseball games. I'm sure the Front office knows this and has their backup plan in place if they swing and miss on the big 2. Even if it means giving a guy like Moustakas a 3 year deal, then so be it. Or adding pieces to the bullpen to try to hold leads late in games.

Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
All I'm saying is don't put the only credibility out there on the Heyman, Rosenthals, Morosi folks just because they are household names. Some guys get lucky and get their scoops from connections. Hell, WhiteSoxDave hasn't paid for a meal in this town (it seems) all because he nailed the Shields deal ahead of everyone.

You realize those MSM guys noted there get their information from the lower tier guys like a Dan Clark, right?

Sox trade for Yonder Alonso; Alex Call to CLE
Why would you pay $100 million + for a "Legit CF" which would block 3 of your best 10 prospects who can also play CF? (Robert, Rutherford, Gonzalez). If Luis Robert is not starting in CF by 2020, the Sox have bigger development issues than we thought. I'm OK with Moncada flopping at this point, but you better get stardom from Eloy and Robert once they land here.
-
Moncada
Guys arriving at different times and peaking late into service times reminds me of the 90s White Sox. I really hope our Championship window truly opens in 2020 to avoid a small window of contention like in the 90s. These 2018 ML performances by Moncada, Giolito, Anderson, Lopez, Fulmer sure haven't done enough to make me feel like 2020 could be a reality. Kind of feels like a lost season in that sense.

I agree it's the BoSox who initiated his rush to the bigs, but maybe the Sox should have held him down longer themselves. Especially on starting his service clock when clearly this team was going nowhere for awhile.

Last couple weeks have been the best I've seen Yoan from the Right Side. Let's hope.
