9/2 GT: Sox v. Twinkies 710CT - A new leaf turned?
HOFHurt35 replied to ChiSox59's topic in 2022 Season in Review
I hope they can't hide behind the pandemic excuse for cancelling Sox Fest next season. If Hahn and Tony still have jobs by some miracle, I will make it a point to attend in person for the first time in 15 years. -

Bennetti quit on the Sox. Don't blame him. I'd be doing UIC hoops over this also. -

Payton has earned a promotion. It's a bad message to send down to your farm when you refuse to promote, all because you want to hoard bad players on a 40 man roster. -

? Save the airfare Rick. -
Abreu has been a problem? WTF, are you high? He hasn't been MVP great, but he has been very very good. 142 wRC+ .368 wOBA That's 8th in the AL (min 400 ABs). Ahead of Vlad Jr. Yes, that Vlad Jr. For perspective, Shoe Ohtani is going 145 /.373 and is ranked 7th.

Carlos Perez had more pass balls than games caught, I think.

It's simple. You only get 26 players on a ML roster. Bench players need to be bench players.

This. We didn't go through 5 years of tanking to end up with platoon scenarios.

While Moncada and Grandal (players that actually mattered) have taken most of the fan abuse all season for their suckage, I can make an argument the Giolito has been the most disappointing player for this season. The guy has been healthy and at the prime of his career and he just flat out SUCKS. -

He just doesn't have a good enough breaking pitch to make up for the loss in velocity on the FB. He's basically a FB/Change pitcher. When he was 94-96, he'd could live this way on 2 pitches. -

Pollock OPS #s since 2017 2017 .801 2018 .800 2019 .795 2020 .881 2021 .892 2022 .647 Of course he'd post his worse career year with us when we were trying to win a World Series. -

I need a complete house cleaning this offseason, minimum from Hahn down. Everyone. If they can launch Kenny, I'd be fine also. But I think he's got a job as long as Reinsdorf lives. -

Power move by Tony. Faking health issues just to get away from having to see another Lucas Batting Practice session. -

So Cairo is also a sleeper. Then you have our own pitching coach, 4 starting pitchers on the bench .... none who screamed this out to the field. At the very least, rattle the pitcher. -

Elvis Boycotting the White Sox and Jerry Reinsdorf. "Sell The Team" -
If this season has taken it's toll on us, It has to be 10x heavier on him. Not excusing Tony from this mess, but he was suppose to be leaving his couch to manage a young "great" club where all he basically needed to do was fill out a line-up card and enjoy the ride to a ring. Every night Hahn has him playing 2-3 men short, including a revolving door to the IL. On top of that, this offense flat out stinks. Managing this team sucks. As the great Lou Brown once turned down a chance to manage the Cleveland Indians : "Let me get back to you, will ya, Charlie? I got a guy on the other line asking about some white walls."

Lost here for me is that I totally forgot MLB was going the lottery route. (Since I never expected we'd be in that territory anytime soon) So maybe it's not a lost season after all if we're able to win the lottery. Gives Hahn a chance to draft another dud with a high pick: another midget, another softball player, another catcher who can't make contact, or a bullpen arm. Fun .
