White Sox interested in Athletics Catcher Sean Murphy
HOFHurt35 replied to HeGetzUs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
All this nonsense because of the overpaid garbage catcher currently on the roster. -
I'd boot Rick Hahn upstairs to a glorified president position RIGHT DAMN NOW and bring in Click to run this team. The Rays have done more with less than any other team in history. This fits Reinsdorf's model. And now Click has won the big one with the Astros.
-
I don't think so. There were still a lot of very delusional people out there these past two off-seasons (post Machado / Harper) thinking Reinsdorf was going to go all in for free agents. Go see Twitter now. People still up in arms about the projected payroll (WSD, James, others).
-
Oh no, Sox fans will eat this up so easily. Time to go follow all the foodie accounts for ?. Then pitchforks and torches when he signs elsewhere. "We were lied to again"
-
Agree here. It's not too late. Chris Sale was rushed as a reliever and then worked back as a Starter. Rodon and Kopech the same. A TJ surgery is not career ending, it's actually a reset.
-
Adam LaRoche and now AJ Pollock have given Rick Hahn two mulligans on bad acquisitions. That's $21 million saved there. Rick Hahn is a very bad ML GM.
-
He truly never looked happy out there, but might be his personality. I think the clubhouse is kind of toxic, even with the removal of LaRussa.

Christmas comes early

This, 100% is where I was getting at. As I was saying each and every night on every game thread while everyone was being so distracted with their massive hard-on hate for LaRussa and the coaches. It mostly lies on the players. It's as simple as shown here by this ESPN piece where a manager swap does nothing for the expectations. In fact they are considered one step lower than where they finished.
-
So according to ESPN, LaRussa gets replaced and we will be worse. Is it too late to hire him back?
-
.712 career OPS in 900 ABs while surrounded by elite talent in that lineup. But let's trade away the house for him, Moncada and Grandal will provide him all the protection he needs.
-
Of my biggest Rick Hahn gripes, this right here is at the top of them. I understand he has his hands tied on a lot big $$$ issues, but his management of the 40/26 man roster is atrocious.
-
Both he and Mooney are signed for about 1.5 seasons, it's becomes very expensive thereafter. I would have rather rolled dice with a high WR draft pick to extend that Free Agency window at that position.
-
This thought process makes me very concerned with what kind of faith Poles has in scouting and identifying draft talent.
-
Help me out here, but is there not Claypool receiving talent available in most 2nd rounds, especially high 2nd round where the bears are heading?
-
My sources are now confirmimg the Grifol hire, BTW.
-
Criticizing/arguing is a lot more different than blocking.
-
I don't think they even considered Quatraro for an interview. To me, anyone from the Rays or Guardians organization is worth a sit-down with. Those two teams do more with less than anyone else in the league. It's a culture l'd like injected into our clubhouse. But who knows if our clubhouse is still salvageable at this point. Guys here already got paid, big. Unlike what they do over there in Cleveland and Tampa.
-
I'm not talking politics. I'm stating an example on where it's childish to completely block out someone who doesn't agree with you. And for a managerial hire, tell me that's not childish? It's actually laughable.
