  1. Honestly if the pitching staff is what they have shown the last week...it's not far fetched. Keuchel and Cease both look great and the bullpen seems to be in solid order. If Rodon and Lopez are above average, they have to get a wildcard spot at least.
  2. I can live with this lineup. I am still wondering why Eloy is batting 6th. By midseason I really hope Eloy moves up and Abreu moves down. Robert will have a ton of RBI opportunities with EE, Grandal and Jimenez in front of him. Also, imagine having a lineup this deep that the ROY is batting 7th.
  3. And will be ready to go by Next week if he is better. I said not ideal, but trying to think about if Mazara is out for 2-4 weeks if it's severe
  4. I hate to say this...Puig is available.
  5. Why is Robert hitting 6th? Please tell me they don't plan this for the season. Abreu is not a #3 hitter anymore.
  6. EASY win. My Cubs friends are miserable tonight. 🤣
  7. 35-25. Tied for 1st with the Twins. 1 game tiebreaker...and they lose in an absolute heartbreaker. This strengthens the team together and in 2021 they will be poised to win the division and hit their 4-5 year dominant period. Highlights of 2020: -Giolito keeps to his improvements from last year, top 5 cy young candidate -Keuchel returns to #2 form and has a sub 3.40 ERA -Rodon stays healthy and is mostly effective and most likely traded in offseason -Robert plays elite defense and wins ROY with solid offensive production -Eloy leads AL in HRs -Moncada puts up great WAR numbers and warrants MVP consideration -Madrigal wins a GG as a Rookie Lowlights- -Lopez is ineffective and loses rotation spot -Herrera is DFAd mid-season after being afwul -Madrigal struggles to hit for any power, but still gets on-base -TA continues to not walk and his BA falls to sub 300. His defense still is shaky - Ricky gets a big extension even after making many questionable moves with pitching staff Overall they are going to impress, but not quite ready to win it all yet based on pitching and inexperience.
  8. off Guerrero...I think they knew that ball was going 450.
  9. Herrera is still bad. That is one of Hahn's worst. hopefully he gets hot for 30 games.
  10. Madrigal is going to score a LOT hitting before Robert.
  11. Madrigal needs to be 2nd base starter. Defense is too important.
  12. Bummer starting. ESPN had an interesting article about how Bummer could actually be a Cy Young candidate as in a 60 game schedule a top notch reliever actually could be in consideration. Love that idea.
  13. Giolito looked in mid season form. Robert is a gazelle and Will win at least 2 gold gloves in his career. Cordero and Guerrero really impressed. If one of them can be a reliable power arm it really helps the pen. Mazara looks confident so far even when just making contact. His and Jose's bodies look leaner and hopefully results follow.
  14. The disrespect he has for even his own teammates....ESPN is gonna have to have a panel prepared to discuss.
  15. Bummed. But mostly because this means Sox have to win a world series this year with Cease as their #3 starter... Honestly with the reports of rodon really being healthy this time...Kopech was gonna have to really scrape for a spot on the rotation. Is it safe to say: Gio Keuchel Cease Rodon Gio Lopez long man and is injury replacement? That rotation can still win the division with 35 wins
  16. If more than 50% of a team is infected, the whole league will have to shut down. The scheduling is too tight for a ravaged team to miss even a couple games without a major cascading effect around the league. Buckle up, this season is gonna be bonkers
  17. This is absolutely a winnable schedule. Yes the last 14 games are tough. But think about this: 10 against Tigers 10 against Royals 4 against Pirates 24/60 games against 3 of the worst 5 teams. Sox always win at least half of the Cubs games (3 guaranteed wins, 4 most likely) Sox play 20 of 30 home games in August when the ball flys out the rate at high numbers This schedule has so many great things going for it. 33-36 wins is ON THE TABLE.
  18. yeah, since it effects everyone different, I am sure a few players will have their season wiped or be very weak and ineffective. I am hopeful that the white sox will be overly precautious.
  19. agreed, these are super athletes in peak condition. They should be able to fight it off and the roster is pretty well set up to handle a few down - especially before the season starts.
  20. If he is fully healthy...he is gonna be a great #4 and exactly what the Sox need. 1. Gio 2. Dallas 3. Cease 4. Gio G 5. Lopez/Kopech/Rodon 3-5 is going to be so competitive in a shortened season. I kinda want them to go 6 man rotation if Rodon and Kopech are fully healthy.
  21. 1. Potential to win it all in a shortened season 2. Every game actually matters. 3. One of the young players has a superstar season (Moncada, Eloy or Robert imo)
  22. So Sox got an ace in 4-5 years if things pan out in Kelley, a solid #3 starter in Crochet (or lights out 2 inning Miller type) and another lefty reliever in the 5th that could make the majors. If they hit on all three this draft is a massive success. If they hit on 2, it's their best draft in years. If Kelley hits, then it was all worth it. Color me impressed for 5 rounds.
  23. it's fine. He isn't BPA, so the philosophy bugs me, but after Sale, need to give them the benefit of the doubt on lefty evaluation.
