Buxton is a weird case, (IF and it's always a huge IF with him) he is healthy his value the first couple years of that deal will be insane...but then he will have one more injury and fall off a cliff. Twins are dumb if they trade him under this type of ultimatum. It won't happen to Sox, and hopefully he goes to the NL so Sox don't have to see him when he hits his peak health window.

Would much rather trade Gallo and have him for THIS years championship run and next year. This gives flexibility to see if Cespedes or Colas could be ready 2023. Conforto has a great track record...but he is also at that age where sometimes things just fall apart. I don't think a long term RF FA is wise with all the money raises coming. If they were gonna do that, Springer last offseason was the move. They didn't, time to move on and find a shorter term solution.

Blackmon is definitely not worth his contract and Rox would need to eat at least half of it....but Conforto SUCKS this year. 84 OPS+ and every single stat of his is worse than Blackmon. I certainly am not NOT hoping Conforto is our RF next season under any circumstance. In fact..I hope both of them are nowhere near this team at expected prices.

If he gives up the game here and AL loses it will hang over his head and look terrible. EDIT - whew...no worries.

No matter how it works out they have drafted 3 high upside HS position players - SS, 3B and SS/OF plus a starter. That alone makes me excited if even 2/4 hit.

He has changed his approach at the plate every year as a White Sox player. 2018 he was being patient and then striking out a lot looking, so then in 2019 he started attacking early in the count with that sweet swing and mashed. 2020 was Covid and shortened (it's a miracle he even produced at all) and he started showing signs of a slower bat so he got patient again out of necessity. For 2021 in the 2 & 3 role he has looked to be patient and has honed his eye to actually walk in deep counts (the antithesis of his 2018) and it almost has forced him to be that guy who sees all the pitches for the 4 & 5 hitters. I can't remember him swinging at the first pitch more than maybe 10 times this year. So to me it's an approach based thing and I am pretty sure he will be a hybrid of 2019 and 2021 moving forward. And that is a heck of a good player getting on base in the 2 hole for the next several years as Eloy/Pito/Vaughn mash behind him, even if he is just an 800ish OPS player.
