I really love Eloy being ready...but damn I was so hoping for Eloy and Robert to emerge from the corn in Iowa and lead this team to like 105 wins and a world series.

Lucroy was assigned to AAA Braves affiliate today. He can reject and get FA status, which I assume he will if the Sox checked in. I assume he is the catcher starting Saturday.

I don't really care what they do with Keuchel. IMO he doesn't even need to be on the playoff roster. You go out and get 2 RH relievers in trades and roll with it. Do people not understand that if Kopech only gets 65-75 innings this year...he won't be a starter for all of next season? Kopech has not shown himself to be able to pitch 2 innings multiple days in a row. His role should not be defined by the lack of talent in RH relievers currently.

Correct. Rodon and Lynn are absolute locks. what we have seen from Giolito lately puts him in there...I do not trust Keuchel at all right now. and NO WAY are they going 3 man rotation in a 7 game series. Kopech should be the 4th starter for the simple fact that if they use him as a 1 and 2 inning guy the rest of the year....he may not be ready for a full workload in 2022. that would be an absolute waste of his potential and service time.

IMO you have to get Kopech ready as a starter. Cease just throws too many pitches to be effective come advanced scouting in the playoffs. Which unfortunately means trading for 2 RH relievers at this point to replace him and Codi.

As mentioned in other 2nd base target threads...the elite teams need at 2nd base isn't that great...but Whit's ability to move him to the outfield also adds to his appeal. I could see the yankees making a play here if they are buying. who else would be in on him? Sox have a need, but this would be burger & crochet as the asking price.

I hate to say it...if they wreck Carlos arm Long term for a championship this season...is anyone here going to be really sad? I for one think Carlos input into his usage is what matters. He wants a payday...and knows the risks.
