  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 09:50 AM) But he's got so much money. Fire the jet up. He's gonna break his jaw this time. MME now! That segment was so bad I could have sworn I heard Tony Schiavone sending it to Lee Marshall, "who is backstage with Glacier".
  2. Mayweather is an absolute joke on the mic. Can't shut up for any give-and-take with Show, keeps repeating the same two things over and over. Hornswoggle cuts better promos. What a waste of money, no matter what the true amount is. If they're paying him 75 bucks to job like they used to, it's still too much. Oh, and I heard Brandon "The Thrill" Hill got 5 million dollars to appear on Raw.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 07:33 PM) With the mess that the Orioles have been over the past decade or so, sucking with players who don't make a lot of money is still a step above sucking with a few players making a good amount of money. At least maybe you're building something around guys like Markakis if you're sucking with guys who don't make much money. I completely agree. Maybe a couple of the Cubs guys pan out for the Orioles, whereas Brian Roberts alone doesn't really help them now or in the future. If they parlay their highly-paid veterans into a decent amount of prospects and then get lucky with a fair amount of them, they might be able to rise back to relevance.
  4. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 07:58 PM) I'm not sure if I want to be associated with you. Almost couldn't find my car in the lot yesterday either, I thought it was stolen! Which would've been funny given the story I told you about the Sox game.. LOL Yeah, that would have been quite ironic. I hung around and let the lots clear out a little and still got to work a little past 5:00. My cousin tells me the chances are good that we'll get the suite again on the 16th - GOOD times!!!
  5. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) No thoughts on my perfect score, critic? I can't laugh at you when I'm in the same Boat Of Shame, mah bruthah.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 06:57 PM) Why would they take on a bunch of players that cant make the team for the cubs? Marshall - "lefty rotation prospect" who doesn't make any money Gallagher - "bullpen depth" who doesn't make any money Cedeno - "change of scenery" who doesn't make any money Murton - "untapped potential" who doesn't make any money The second part of each description is the real reason, the first part is how they'll sell it to their fans. (They still have fans, right?)
  7. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) It still doesnt mean that Kane isnt on the same level as Toews is. Kane's biggest knock is that he isnt big or aggressive enough. I know of another very prolific scorer who wasnt big or aggressive and he ended up quite the player...... I think they'll both have All-Star caliber NHL careers, but I feel Toews will be the better player in the long run. Kane is more exciting, but Toews brings a more well-rounded game. We're lucky to have both of them in Chicago.
  8. I had to laugh: DJ: "Mike MacDougal..............confidence..............he has it..........." THWACK!!!!! "....and we have a tie game at 5....."
  9. QUOTE(Pants Rowland @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 02:40 PM) It appears Lowry walked the first 6 batters, got a Sac/FC to score the third run, another walk, another sac/fc for the forth run, another walk to reload the bases, and then retired the leadoff batter Kinsler. Four runs, no hits no errors. I know spring is no good indicator of pitching sometimes, but a walk is a walk. Lowry for Crede? No thanks! I guess he was all over the place in his first start against the Cubs too. Probably just an armslot thing, but Lowry alone is not a fair return for Crede IMO.
  10. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) It's a work. Lords of Pain agrees - or at least poses the question: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2008/articles/1204561427.php They bring up an interesting point - since The E is a publicly traded company, they would have to declare the 20 million as an expense, or find some way to hide whatever payout they're making to Floyd if it isn't in fact 20 mil.
  11. QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) The Ex-Old Ladie's book must of pushed him off the wagon I actually do think that had something to do with it. The week she started the publicity tour for her book was the first time VH cancelled a show. Ed hates to be discussed by anyone but himself, so I can definitely see how his ex airing dirty laundry about him and their marriage could set him off.
  12. Jeff Healey died in Toronto on Sunday at age 41 after a bout with cancer. Very sad news - I was lucky enough to see him in concert a couple times, and he was absolutely fantastic. 41 is way too young to check out. Rest in Peace, Jeff.
  13. http://www.tmz.com/2008/03/02/van-halen-tour-unhinged/ Now, it's being reported on TMZ, so I'll hold off on taking it as gospel until I read the news from a legitimate music news source, but it wouldn't surprise me if Eddie was back on the sauce. If it's over for VH (again), they did make a nice chunk of change on this nostalgia tour.
  14. I am quite ashamed to say that I scored 100%. I totally guessed on the Vince figure.

QUOTE(The Bones @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 08:38 PM) I really don't understand what people wanted to happen at the end of No Country. If that's the book's ending, then I guess that's the proper ending.

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 11:42 AM) Man I just don't get the love for No Country for Old Men. I just thought it was meh. I loved No Country until the ending. Until the end I thought "I gotta buy the DVD". After the most unsatisfying ending I can remember, I thought "Maybe I'll rent the DVD if they have any alternate endings".
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 06:29 PM) Did they actually get access to the 2003 MLB tests? That, I don't know. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Certainly a black eye for baseball to have arguably the greatest hitter and greatest pitcher of their era both under investigation for PEDs and perjury. Doesn't seem to be affecting ticket sales, though, so I'm not sure how much Joe Fan cares.

    Tattoos

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) I know myself too well to get one. I know that yes, in 20 years, I would look at my tat and say "what the hell was I thinking?". So I always chose to not get one. Even if I am still a HUGE lover of whatever the tat would be, I would still live to regret it. Yep. But I'll add that aside from my wife and kid, there's no one and nothing I love enough to even consider a tattoo.
  19. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) It's a work. It better be. But that number's making its way through the non-rasslin' media, so Vince should buck up for more mocking if it's not the actual payday.
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3271173 More positive tests? According to this story, yes.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) Did anyone hear the rumor that the Sens offered Gerber + Emery to the Hawks for Bulin and Lalime at the deadline? That's crazy! Trading SETS of goalies? I've never heard of that before.
  22. Crawford's nickname is CRAWF? Holy Lack Of Imagination, Batman!!!
  23. This game is off to a frantic pace. I like watching it, but I'm not sure it's the best kind of game to get into with Dallas.
  24. And just like that, Brad Richards throws a PERFECT pass to Hagman, who just has to tip it in. 1-1.
  25. Buff EXACTLY where he should be on a power play - parked in front of the net - pokes in the rebound! 1-0 Hawks!
