QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 5, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) In similar news, rumors have it The Police plan a reunion tour. Stewart Copeland is probably my favorite drummer and The Police might be my favorite 3 piece ever. I'm GEEKED!! I'll be surprised if it gets off the ground. They've had feelers out before for a reunion and passed on it. They can't be together for very long before they start hating each other again. I'm not sure what the bad blood is about, but it's weird to me that guys who have traveled the world together, realized a shared dream and made each other a lot of money in the process, could end up hating each other like they do.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) Ok, so who wants to make the "Detroit just guaranteed themselves a world series" joke and who wants to make the "Detroit just guaranteed that the White Sox will win the world series" joke? Apparently you............................and you.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) Billy Corgan has officially confirmed that there will be both a new Smashing Pumpkins Album and tour in 2007. Yahtzee! The one band I should have seen in the late 90s but never got the chance to... No word yet on who other than Billy and Jimmy Chamberlain will actually be playing with the band. But Hell, on a ton of Pumpkins stuff, those are the only 2 guys you hear anyway, because Corgan would re-record everyone else's stuff. That Pumpkins lineup is one member shy of being the alt-rock equivalent of "Lonesome Dave's Foghat". No James + no D'arcy = no Pumpkins. How about they call themselves Corgalain? Or Jimbilly?

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 09:44 PM) If you call my hotline I'll tell you which former world champion is dead, and I'll give you the SCOOP~! on the B-Mac trade. LOL $2.99 A MINUTE???!?!??!??!!??
-
Hernandez just Border Tossed "Brother Runt" Dudley onto a propped-up ladder in the corner. Damn.
-
Please don't be offended, but I'm avoiding this episode like the plague. I'm completely tired of B-Mac trade talk, and I'm assuming that "the recent moves" include a fair amount of McCarthy trade discussion. I stay out of the McCarthy trade threads, and I'll stay away from this show. I'll be back for the next episode, unless you do "B-Mac Part Deux".

They've actually grown on me. I listen to their first half-hour while I wait for my kid to get out of school, and that half-hour is usually quality. It's either them or Dan Patrick, and THAT is an easy decision.

QUOTE(PAUL KONERKO 14 @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 05:34 PM) I heard he may be their closer which may be bad/good, who knows. I heard that, too.....where did I hear that again?....oh YEAH.....in the ARTICLE linked above!!!

Hey, they don't call it Xbox for nothin'!!! Maybe it should be XXXbox....

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 01:56 AM) Not a hockey fan i see I'm a lifelong hockey fan, and I love the shootout. And I love the 4-on-4 overtime format. I'd much rather see a shootout than a second overtime or a tie. Except, of course, in the Stanley Cup playoffs - let them play all night to decide a playoff game if they have to.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jan 3, 2007 -> 06:38 PM) Elvis Costello would be kickin too. I wanted to see Elvis Costello for the longest time, but I made the mistake of seeing one of his "intimate performances in a casual setting" - just him and Steve Nieve, guitar and piano, at the Arie Crown Theatre here in Chicago. I literally fell asleep during the show, and walked out when I woke up. It was a HUGE disappointment, and now I don't even want to see him with The Attractions anymore.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 2, 2007 -> 06:56 AM) Billy Joel is worth the money. I saw him and Elton John a few years back, and was really disappointed in Elton, but really surprised at how awesome Billy Joel was. It was the exact opposite of what I expected. I don't even like Billy Joel (dragged to see him by a woman, ain't it always the case? ) and I was highly entertained by his show. I've seen every band I really wanted to, with the exception of four: Thin Lizzy - Phil Lynott is dead, therefore so is Lizzy. They're going to tour with John Sykes singing, and I may just try to catch them. Queen - Freddie is dead, and Paul Rodgers is too different vocally for me to be interested. Jim Carroll Band - Jim doesn't tour with a band anymore, so that's probably out, too. David Lee Roth-era Van Halen - They might be reuniting, but without Michael Anthony, which means I'll pass. Even with MA I'd probably pass anyway, just because I think VH's time has passed.

Just a thought here - do you think they're setting up a Flair heel turn on DX this Sunday? Orton & Edge have conchairtoed him twice now without DX making a save. I'm thinking maybe Flair doesn't join Orton & Edge, but costs DX the match at the PPV as revenge for them not "having his back".

QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 1, 2007 -> 07:43 PM) I'm 27 and last night was the first night I drank Pabst Blue Ribbon. Not bad. Made me feel like I was watching wrestling on Saturday afternoon in the 80s. You're 27, and you were drinking in the 80s? Freakin' alcoholic.....go get help.....

QUOTE(NUKE @ Jan 1, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) I have no love lost for a religon that sanctions rape, abuse of women, and murder of anyone who doesn't share their beliefs then claims it is a "religon of peace". I'll take any opportunity I can to point out the hypocrasy in that. I just don't believe that the entire religion sanctions these crimes, and that there are no peaceful Muslims anywhere. There is hypocrisy in people of every religion.

QUOTE(NUKE @ Jan 1, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) They really act like its a holy month or day or whatever when they blow people up, gun them down and leave dozens of beaten and bullet riddled bodies laying around. Religon of peace............... Pretty broad strokes there, Nuke. I don't think these assbags represent Islam any more than the tards who attack abortion clinics represent Christians.

Liddell has the best sprawl in the sport. Damn near impossible to take him down. Combine that with his quick fists and one-punch knockout power and it's going to take a great fighter (or a really lucky night) to take that belt off his waist.

QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) The whole Nash vs. X-Division started off interesting and entertaining but obviously went sour when Nash got hurt, and yes, he did get hurt. I haven't seen much of the PCS stuff but to call Bob Backlund obscure is way off. He was one of the best technical wrestlers ever. Back in his hayday, he was one guy who made wrestling look legit. By "obscure" I mean that his heyday was the late 70's/early 80s, his "comedy resurgence" was in the mid-to-late 90's, and I highly doubt 75% of TNA's viewers today know who the hell he is. He was a legit collegiate wrestler and he played the "babyface in peril" better than anyone during his WWWF title run, so I'm definitely not downing his actual pro and amateur wrestling skills when I call him obscure. Ask a crowd at a WWE show who he is. You'll see that his Q rating is pretty low.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) Yep... And supposedly Bob Backlund is going to be the PPV judge for the PCS contest. I tune out of that PCS thing every time Kevin Nash opens his unfunny, outdated and irrelevant mouth. Bob Backlund is such an obscure person to bring in, so it does at least fit the "huh?" factor of Nash's skits.

Might drink a capful of NyQuil before I hit the sack. With any luck I'll be out after the Hawks game, or 11:00 at the latest. IMO, New Year's Eve is a worthless "holiday".

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 29, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) And Vince also said that the reason he believes ECW is failing is because there isn't enough humor on the show. Gee, and here I've been thinking the current incarnation of WWECW was a huge joke. Once again, Vince throws a shovelful of dirt on ECW's grave. Yep, ECW's failing because it's not a chucklefest. Uh-huh. Riiiight. Couldn't be because he took "extreme" matches off the show for the most part, or because he's throwing his usual crappy HOSSES at it, or because it's on a s***ty channel that not all cable subscribers even have. No, no - we need more YUKS. THAT'LL solve everything. Without serious competition, Vince is absolutely clueless about entertaining the audience.

Downtown is gonna be a f***in' madhouse tonight. I am staying firmly planted in the house, thank goodness. New Year's Eve = meaningless annual ripoff.

QUOTE(Chet Lemon @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) read in the paper today that he was looking for a four-yr. $40 mil. contract. Some unfortunate team would live to regret that deal.
