  1. For the longest time, I thought I was afraid of flying (probably because of all the crashes I had read about ), but I had never flown until my honeymoon. Turns out I really like it. I always take the window seat, and taking off is my favorite part. I don't know if I'll like a long flight, but I also don't like long car rides, long movies, or long songs either. I'll find out about the long flight theory someday when we go to London - it's the only foreign city I have any interest whatsoever in seeing.
  2. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) K-Fed was the best heel on the show. Only because: (1) it was a novelty - put him on two or three weeks in a row and see him transform into David "Get The *** OFF My Television!!!" Arquette. and (2) he's an easily-dislikable borderline-retard.
  3. Stupid MERC. They could've bought like FIVE YouTubes for 8 billion bucks. Instead they get only one CBOT. And you can't even watch 7-year-old Hispanic kids play Sepultura songs at the CBOT, like you can on YouTube. Dumb.
  4. Sabres beat the living hell out of the Flyers tonight, and did so in an updated version of their old blue uniforms. All they did was stick a small number on the upper right chest. I like.
  5. Hawks looked like the exact opposite of crap in Denver last night. They got a boatload of power plays and made the 'Lanche pay. It's going to be interesting to see this team as they learn to play together - I'm actually getting a bit excited about the West Side Hockey Club again. Didn't think THAT would happen anytime soon, hope I'm not setting myself up.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 06:38 PM) Didn't we already see that? I meant here. Chicago is a little rougher than Tampa/St. Pete.
  7. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 06:35 PM) Did Pinella say he wanted "8 midgets that could walk a lot"??? Yes he did, and I thought that was very funny. He came off great in the press conference, but we'll see what a couple losing seasons do to him.
  8. Why does Vince let retards like that imbecile Steve O. in the ring? Stupid assbag no-selling Umaga's moves - how exactly does that help the WWE? I wish Umaga would shoot on that brainless crapsack for the remainder of the show.
  9. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Reality can be a b****, can't it? On a somewhat related note, my magazine just sold out today! GOOD NEWS! Congrats! Any chance for a second printing, or is that it for Issue #1?
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) For those tossing Lyon's name out there with our radio job, I'd just like to point out that Lyon's does a good chunk of work with the Dodgers on TV. Scully only does a few innings a game. To be honest I'm not quite sure how the Dodgers booth works, but you have Scully at times and at other times you have Lyon's and a former ESPN guy (whose name escapes me at the second). Charley Steiner, isn't it?
  11. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) Laurence Holmes on the Score said it looks like a 3 year $9 million deal is done or darn close to done. That's less than I thought it would take. Fewer years, too.
  12. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) yay! updated information : hits on your website this month : 1 SWEET! You're welcome.
  13. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 12:31 PM) Pinella is the wrong choice for the Cubs, Girardi is a better fit. It depends on their priority, I think. Piniella (plus the reported/rumored $115 million payroll slated for 2007) tells me that they REALLY don't want to hit the century mark of no titles. Girardi would've indicated a youth movement, which no Cub fan I know wants to hear right now. The Cub fans I know are sick of being asked to put up with "growing pains", "rebuilding processes" and "5 year plans". The Sox' WS victory has only made real Cub fans more impatient, and this hire, I believe, is Cub management trying to address their impatience. Whether it works or not, who knows? But I think Piniella is a good counterpoint to Baker's "substitute teacher" attitude of no accountability, all excuses accepted.
  14. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 10:46 AM) you read that on my website, right? no...? s***. You run blabbermouth.net? No? Then..............no. No, I didn't. If so, then why, YES............yes, I did! Edited to add that I just read it on your site now, and I didn't know about the live DVD, so THANKS!
  15. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 05:28 AM) Two stories. 1. Ricky Steamboat was going to be used with Flair's team of legend wrestlers. However, his ex-wife owns the rights to the Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat gimmick and the E didn't want to pay for the rights to use it. 2. Current rumor is that for Cyber Sunday, the fans will be able to vote for which belt goes on the line in the Booker vs Cena vs Skillet Hands match. With all the Kevin Dunn "People can't figure out that ECW is actually WWE programming, so we need to get rid of the ECW name and turn it into a full E show instead.", I have a feeling that the ECW title will be on the line and show loses it to Cena or King Book-ahh. And Fantasy Leaguers -- remember, new week (Week 2) starts tonight. Wow, losing your gimmick in a divorce proceeding??? Wouldn't that fall under "hampering the ability to make a living" or something?
  16. I just read that the not-so-recently-reunited "classic lineup" of Dinosaur Jr. have finished the recording of their upcoming disc of new material, due in Spring 2007. I am now happier than I was a few minutes ago. Dinosaur Jr. =
  17. I love the best-of-5 LDS. I really like that there's a decent chance for upsets in the first round - it spices things up a bit. Seems like Greasy Buddy just wants to find a way to screw things up.
  18. Blackhawks looked a lot like crap last night. Boucher gave up a couple softies. Between that, the Wolves getting slapped around and the Kitties advancing to the World Series, it was a rotten sports night for me. At least the Cardinals won.
  19. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 07:36 AM) From all I have heard, the pictures don't do it justice on its "dumptitude". I would have loved to have seen The Dead Boys. But it was Stiv's death that prevented that from happening. Never was a big Ramones fan. Would have loved to have seen The Heartbreakers (the Thunders band, not Petty's), but they were more associated with Max's. New York Dolls would have been cool...but it seems I have a chance to see them now days. Weird, I thought 4 of them were dead... Forgot about the Dead Boys, I would have liked to see them as well. I just remember CBGB being all about Television, Blondie, Talking Heads and such. Never wanted to see any of them, although I enjoy some Talking Heads songs.
  20. Never really had the urge to go there. I saw the Ramones 4 times here in Chicago, and that was really the only band from CBGB's heyday that I ever wanted to see. I don't get too hung up on clubs anyway - I mean, I really like Metro, but if they closed up shop I wouldn't really care all that much. I liked the Thirsty Whale and Exit on Wells, but they're gone and time moves on. Was CBGB as much of a dump as it looked in photos?
  21. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 10, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) The thing I am most amazed by are the number of Blog sites popping up with downloads. No kidding, it's great - I love the mp3 blogs. But the Beastie b****es killed the most awesome mp3 blog ever, 100 Records. That site was the BEST - I got over 100 songs from that site that I'd had on vinyl and/or cassette back in the old days. I guess the little pricks got mad that 4 mp3s were posted from Paul's Boutique, and still got the site shut down after 100 Records willingly took down the songs. I guess it's not OK to be "Rhymin' and Stealin' ", huh?
  22. Very little shocks me anymore, but I have to admit that I was shocked when I heard this story on the radio. How someone can "not realize it until it was too late" is way beyond me. Absolutely sickening.
  23. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Oct 9, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) OK Go video, not sure if it should be here or "stupid, hilarious......." LINK Good isn't it? I like OK Go. I'm going to see them in November, in fact. That video still brings a chuckle. Have you checked YoogleTube for the Lego version of that video? It's pretty good, too.
  24. Almost always a picture of my daughter, both at home and at work.
  25. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 9, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) Google is one of the best ran internet companies around and its because they actually know what the end users (us) want. They'll do a great job with Youtube. That said I don't know if it was worth what they paid for it. I know Mark Cuban thinks youtube isn't worth what Google paid. I hope you're right. I just get a little leery when that much money is paid out - I figure the buyer will want to "put their stamp" on it.
