AJ swipes a base. Hilarious!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 07:08 AM) I gotta laugh at the thread title with spoilers for Jackass... What are you going to give, give away the plot? LMAO! Look, I don't want to give away too much, BUT......................a guy gets hit in the nuts in this movie.

2-out walk turns into 3 runs. Damn. Did I mention that September has been: U G L Y ???

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) I agree and yes I think Buehrle will come back strong next year and hopefully he gets a third pitch! Maybe Buehrle can be the first to throw the gyroball, LOL! BTW I was not going to watch any more Sox games this year but if they were to put in all the new guys/bench guys for the last few games, I'd watch! Just to see what we got going! I think that would actually make me tune in... I can't help it, I have to watch til the bitter end. They're still my guys, and they'll be gone til March, so I'll endure these terrible performances.

September has been U.G.L.Y.

I thought Konerko was being shut down for the year?

Official Ryan Sweeney and Josh Fields time...

QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 11:07 AM) 1) Ozuna- 2B 2) Cintron- SS 3) Gload- 1B 4) Anderson- CF 5) Mackowiak-DH 6) Fields- 3B 7) Sweeney- LF 8) Owens- RF 9) Stewart- C Not much pop there, maybe they'd finally be forced to try some hit-and-run plays or steal some bases. Anderson would be the "masher" on that team, with 8 bombs. -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 08:07 AM) I heart William Regal. In fact, I heart that whole stable right now. Regal, Finlay, Booker...that's good stuff. Just get rid of the roster split so I can see these guys more. Agreed. Regal is always gold.

I'd need goggles, an air tank and flippers to swim through the ocean of my own vomit. On second thought, skip the goggles - they might cause a second ocean of vomit.

Okay, NOW it's officially over. I hope that now Ozzie will play guys like Sweeney and Fields to see a little of what they can do in the last week.

I don't know. While I like a lot of Rush songs, I wouldn't really classify them as an all-time great band. That said, not being in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame is nothing to be ashamed of. That place was SUCH a disappointment when I went there this summer. REALLY weak.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) Its a shame the Sox set the attendance record the year they had a 3rd place team. I wonder how season ticket renewals will go. The waiting list was a good idea, but another year like this one and I think tumbleweeds will be spotted at USCF at least for the April and September games. I'm not renewing my share in the season-ticket group I was in this year, but it's got nothing to do with the Sox finishing 3rd. I need 3 seats, but I'm not going for 3 season seats. I'd rather go to 5 or 6 games with the wife and kid than the 11 I went to with one or the other this year.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) LOL at fan yelling "HE GONE" while Konerko grounded into an inning-ending DP. When did Pierzynski become a woman at the plate? I swear, he seems to drop or misplay more throws to homeplate than any opposing catcher I've witnessed this season. Also seems to mishandle the majority of pitches received during steal attempts. I love what AJ brings to the Sox, but a defensive wizard he ain't.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 06:15 PM) Yeah...but can he play "Eruption"? Can YOU?

QUOTE(mu mu @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) Well, if you and your bo have plans to make a quiche and go to Yoga class, I'd hate baseball to interfere. Real men don't do yoga, we're too macho. Quoting the correct post when responding is also really cool.

Twins fans vs YankMe fans - that's a tough one. Go A's.

Not only would that be cool, it's also absolutely necessary to make the weekend in Minny mean anything.

QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 12:12 PM) I hear the Old Man is going to let us watch 4 Home games this year I heard it was FIVE!!! That's ALMOST 1/8th of the ENTIRE home schedule!!! ....and the fact that those games are scheduled to be televised by OLN anyway has NOTHING to do with it, I'm sure.....

Found this on another board that I frequent, and it's kind of unbelievable. Plus, the guy kinda looks like Jason Mewes, so that just added to my enjoyment. http://www.fuzzlepop.com/media/armless-guitar-player.html

Blackhawks look like they might be interesting to watch this year. ....but only road games, of course....

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) Wow. This is getting ridiculous. Baseball is a daily grind. Some of the crap people say is just so moronic that it's unbelievable. You must not have ever played baseball because anyone with a grain of knowledge know's that these guy's play tired all the time. Just because they get paid a lot doesn't make it an easy sport to play. These guys are thinking baseball 24/7. DO NOT tell me, or anyone else, that they're not tired, because they're not, they're exhausted. There is more to baseball than a 9 inning game every day. They wake up early, get to the park, and work. They get a couple days off every month, but no, they're not tired. What puzzles ME is how people can be so idiotic. Add to that the amount of traveling and being away from home, any sort of "normal" routine, and staying in hotels and I'd say it's not as easy as it seems. I'm not 100% excusing them, because every other team goes through the same thing, but when you consider the amount of innings the starters logged in October, then the shorter rest/recovery period they got because of playing longer than any other AL team, there had to be some effect as a result. I'm honestly surprised at the level of venom aimed at this year's club. Sure, it's disappointing to see them not make the playoffs, but to see what looks to me like hatred is stunning.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) College sports, high school sports, concerts... Plenty of places to hold those already. I just think it's a complete waste of money.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) She's not hot dude, she's a make up baby. She gets by on a good body and good hair, wardrobe and make up people. I bet she looks like hell in the morning. She's good from far, but far from good. Ultimate butterface.

QUOTE(GaelicSoxFan @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) Nope. It's now Turner Field, home of the Braves. That's the thing. None of the Chicago teams are going to move there. The Sox are locked in to USCF by the state and the US Cellular contract (although I suppose there's a chance US Cellular would agree to naming the new place US Cellular Field, but that would be stupid too). The Cubs sure as hell aren't leaving Chewing Gum Park until it collapses. I HIGHLY doubt the Bears would leave a newly-refurbished Soldier Field. The Fire just had Toyota Park built for them. That leaves.......................no one. Chicago's not getting a 3rd MLB team or 2nd NFL team, and no one would care if another soccer team came to town. There's no point in building ONE new facility, much less building it, tearing it down, and building a smaller one in its place.
