    Baby for sale..

    QUOTE(afacio @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) Selling babies in China? At least we know they'll never run out of product. Buy all you want, we'll make more....
  2. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) What's really a shame is that once you get past all the adolescent jabs he makes at the sox and their fan base, he usually has something to say. But it's so hard to get past all that crap. Even today's article about the Sox, suggesting that if they don't win the WS then this is all for not, they'll be forgotten. WTF? By who, Jay? You? By Jay.....and Anthrax.....
  3. Too bad it's not Sirius, though, eh Steff?
  4. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) For some stupid reason, I went on a strict diet just before the ALCS and haven't had a drink since. That will change with 4 more wins. "Dee beer taysss bedder wenn yoo ween"
  5. QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) What is Houston's nickname? The City That Lost In Six
  6. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 11:02 AM) Who cares, the more s*** Ozzie talks, the less the players have to talk. He's a genius in his own way, making all the news while his players go about their business. He's a Pennant Winner on a team that was almost universely thought to be mediocre, let him talk s***. And the beauty part of this is, no matter who thinks he should shut up, Ozzie is gonna talk! A LOT!!! There's always GOLD in Ozzie's press conferences!!! GOLD, I SAY!!!!!
  7. It is nice that Houston finally got to the Series. I remember that series against Philly, and that had to be HARRRRRRRD for Astros fans. Last year, too - you have Clemens on the mound for a clinching game and it doesn't happen? Tough, tough stuff. It's just too bad that they'll have to settle for being National League Champions....
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) Great post Mr Critic. Great post. ".....IT HAPPENED!!!! IT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!" ( Jim Lampley's call when George Foreman won the heavyweight title from Michael Moorer ) I don't know why that call came to my mind just now.....
  9. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) Who remebers the team that finishes in 2nd place? You still are coming up short, Ozzie should be worried about how this team can match-up with Houston.. in 2 weeks time he can o/say what ever he wants when he holds up the WS trophy..Otherwise keep foucesd. I have a really hard time imagining that taking a minute of free time to stick it to the doubters, and to feel some pride in what the Sox have achieved so far, is preventing Ozzie from focusing on Houston and what the Sox need to do to be successful. and FWIW even if Houston....you know....( I can't bring myself to type THAT, either )....I will always remember this season fondly. I expected around 85 wins, and they delivered MUCH more than that. The White Sox are the 2005 American League champions, and that is a successful season to me. Is it the ultimate prize? Of course not, or they wouldn't be playing on Saturday. But I'm not the person to diminish one achievement just because another one wasn't accomplished.
  10. How come the voices never tell anyone to do charity work, or go on a diet, or run their car into Wrigley? ...you know, GOOD things, HELPFUL things....
  11. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) Crap...I need it in 5. I'm having a Halloween Party type of thing on the 29th. You'll have a world-record number of guests in "Invisible Man" costumes if it goes 6....
  12. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) Alot of people are pickin us...that's where I worry..If the Moron picks us, it's over Don't worry about that, he'll pick the Sox to win and to lose, like Gammons did. That way, he's "right" either way.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) Thus the concern on if they will miss games after the "terrible pains of childbirth" that Paulie went through down in Arizona. In my opinion this is the best thing that could happen for Paulie...congrats to him and his wife! Well, he's been playing for over a year and a half with a degenerative hip that damn near caused his retirement, so he can deal with some pain....
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 07:16 AM) Its different, but it was a really cool place to see a ballgame. It was one of the favorite parks I have seen so far. Why am I not surprised? AY'M YOOST KEEEEEDEEEEEENG!!!!!
  15. Liz Phair. Oh, goodie. I always wanted to hear what God Bless America sounded like in a gruff, mannish monotone. :puke At least Lou Rawls is SUPPOSED to sound gruff and mannish and HE doesn't sing in a monotone.
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 06:56 AM) So what, do you play for the other team? Desperate attempts to cause a diversion by questioning another poster's "allegiance" will NOT change the fact that YOU listed your wife's pregnancy after that of the wives of four actual members of the White Sox organization when asked "Who's Next?"......you delusional post-addict, you.......
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 06:52 AM) ....oops, sorry, I just fast-forwarded to Saturday night in my mind....
  18. That park is retarded. Forget Minute Maid, maaaaan, it's Tropicana for me!
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 06:44 AM) Mrs Southsider UH OHHHHHHHHHHH.....................someone thinks he's on the team now..................
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 06:31 AM) We are soooo much more creative with Moronotti Bora$$ FLubs ScRubs Nuke_Cleveland (sorry bud, proving a point) I guess I have thicker skin when it comes to this stuff. I enjoy her parodies, especially as the Twinkies were going down in flames. She is a comedy writer, I don't take her stuff seriously. Not going to disagree with that, except to say that all of those are more creative than b**** Sox, but I would kick my own ass if I ever wrote: "I'm only going to say this once, but congratulations to the Minnesota TWINS for winning the AL Central. You'll be the Twinkies again tomorrow, but for today you've earned my respect....." or anything to that effect. She's still a doofus.
  21. Tough call from the angle the ump had, and I'm not sure if anyone other than maybe the 1B ump could have seen the missed tag. Cards need more than one run here, to feel like they're back in it.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Oswalt looks unhittable right now. So far, momentum = overrated. Edmonds continues to look like s***. Walker continues to suck out loud. Eckstein and Pujols cannot be expected to do it all. But it's not over yet, maybe they'll wake up again. And maybe Lidge will hang a meatball over the middle of the plate to Pujols with the tying runs on base again....
  23. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) I'm collecting the papers during this run so I can't help but scan it. But really it's the same old crap from Kotex Boy. Slide in a compliment admist a whole bunch of mud slinging. I did read Slesak's column though & I can't help but think she has a point. The Sox fans are no doubt going gaga over this. But we are spread out all over the metro area. The Cub fans in Wrigleyville & the casual fans located around the college campuses in the Lawrence, Kennedy, Fullerton area don't seem to be going gaga like they did over the Cubs. I can't explain that. Why isn't the casual fan jumping for joy over the White Sox? I dunno. I do see a lot more Sox stuff on the train than I ever have, I have to say that. But I guess to the "casual fan" the Sox, even in victory, are still the disrespected, overlooked, ugly, scary, "urban" team. But I have to add two things: 1. I couldn't possibly give any less of a s*** about the "casual fan". Let them casually go to Cub games, or Bears games, or whatever the f*** they do. 2. Whoever's buying up all the Sox s*** in the stores sure as hell ain't "casual" about it. The Value City by me was SUPPOSED to have the nice black A.L. champs hat in stock today, but ALL the Sox s*** was picked through like a coyote carcass in the desert.
