  1. QUOTE(Cali @ May 16, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/newswire.cgi?id=6904 Good News(for me): Arrested f***ing Development picked up. Bad News(for me): (As gay as it might sound), Jack & Bobby cancelled. I really liked that show, it had an interested idea, though I think I may have been one of the only people in the country to watch the damn show. I hope Christine Lahti gets an Emmy nomination in the wake of the death of the show. You know, I wanted to be able to get into Arrested Development, just because I've seen so many people talk about how much they like it, but I just don't enjoy it. Something about the pace of the show or something, I don't know what it is, but I'm just bored by it. Never saw Jack & Bobby. So yeah, you might be the only one who did...
  2. He's had good outings and bad outings. I've been happier with him than some of the crapsacks they had to trot out there last year.
  3. Hey, Mother's Day is OVERRRRRRRRRRR!!! Time to start kissing Dad's ass a little bit!!!!
  4. QUOTE(knightni @ May 15, 2005 -> 02:11 AM) Hoyt was a drug addict and his career was slowly burning out after 1983. The Sox are lucky that they got Salazar, Gamble and Guillen for him. Very true. The Sox definitely dealt Hoyt when the time was right. He was fun to watch while he was here, though.
  5. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 14, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) Y'all must be joking. Everyone says there will be rough patches, then after 1 f'n game, we're getting rid of our prize acquisition from last season and a reliever w/ a sub-4 era. 1 game, jeeeeeez. Noone's taken "Judy" off their fav hot key, I hope. I can guarantee there are people here just ITCHING to call him Judy again. Fact is, the Sox have lost a couple of "winnable" games and won a bunch of "loseable" games so far this year. If every game had gone the way it "should have gone", the Sox would NOT be 27-10. I didn't see Garcia get hurt on too many fastballs last night. I saw a ton of hanging curves, and any team is gonna crush those, especially a really good offensive club like Baltimore. That said, I'm more concerned about Freddy than any other starter right now. He seems to give leads back right away, and he isn't getting the big out right now. I hope he straightens things out soon.
  6. I was kinda sad to see Carlos leave, but I've been happy with Vizcaino and MORE than happy with Scott so far!
  7. Giambi was quoted as saying, "When I first felt something wet fall on me, I was hoping it was a cup full of "The Clear". MAN, I could use some of that stuff right about now! Imagine my disappointment when I found out it was only beer...."
  8. Dusty hasn't decided yet on which precautionary measure he'll use for Zambrainless. It's either: 1) skip his next start or 2) have him throw 167 pitches in his next start "Duuuude, we have to decide what's best for Z long-term, but we also gotta win a game now and then, duuuuude!" Baker said.
  9. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 14, 2005 -> 03:02 AM) I guess Jerry Reinsdorf was on Mike North's radio show and he said that "doctors found something that they didn't like" after checking out Eddy Curry. Was it his defense?
  10. Pressure to live up to a huge contract is a helluva drug..... I'm INSANE, b****!!!
  11. Only 83, huh? She doesn't look a DAY over "ancient"..... My question is, didn't it hurt when they cut her leg in half to count the rings???
  12. My match is Britney Spears Alexander Federline. Musta been my turn, I guess.....
  13. Welcome DeLoderer!! I will add that in his prime, Frank Thomas was a "drop what you're doing" player - when he was at bat, you simply HAD to watch him. While the Cubs sadly draw most of the ire of some Sox fans, the Twins are the ones who bother me the most right now, because they've won the AL Central the past few years. Enjoy your time here and POST OFTEN!!!! ( but not as often as Southsider 2K5, the site couldn't handle TWO people posting that much....hahaaaaaaaa..... )
  14. QUOTE(JimH @ May 14, 2005 -> 07:10 AM) I agree, the media blows with the wind, that's the way it will always be. Sox fans like to complain, that's the way it will always be too. Please send my best to Lori Loughlin, especially those gorgeous six pack abs of hers. Lori Loughlin = quality.
  15. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 13, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) i was not a garland backer before this season and i admit that to everyone. You have to give credit where credit is due and crow where crow is due (ie: me) Mmmmmmmmmmmm..................crowwwwwwwww............ I was never a JG basher, nor was I a huge backer. I felt he was a decent low end of the rotation guy, fairly reliable to eat some innings and get you double-digit wins. NEVER did I think he'd have a 9-game winning streak ( he won his last 2 decisions of 2004, remember ). He's shocked and amazed me this year with his execution, presence and composure.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 13, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) What is the best is the dominance shown after that one innings.... Didnt Buehrle retire like the last 9 hitters he faced and Hermanson his only 3. I thought Hawk said Mark retired the last 13 he faced.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ May 13, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) Yeah, I just posted that in the game thread. I thought it was hilarious. I like AJ more every day!
  18. Dick Allen Frank Thomas Wilbur Wood Lamarr Hoyt Greg Luzinski Harold Baines Bobby Thigpen Ivan Calderon Mark Buehrle Carlos Lee Sorry, went over 10, so I removed Carlos May and Magglio Ordonez
  19. Did you see AJ after the game? The Sox are all high-fiving, Crede goes to high-five AJ and AJ gives him this two-handed shove to the chest like, "Get The f*** Away From Me"!!! He was just f***ing around with Joe, it was hilarious!!! This team just keeps winning, this is f***ing beautiful!!!!!!
  20. Or just have Frank take 'em out to the woodshed and rough 'em up.....to send a message that if you use performance-enhancing drugs, you will be in for a BIG HURT ASSWHIPPIN'!!!!!
  21. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 13, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Agreed, but just try to tell that to a Cubs fan who says wins for a starting pitcher don't matter. Here's a fun game to play on a Cubs fan: Tell him "Well, I gotta admit it....the Cubs drafted the two best pitchers in baseball right now...." ( Wait for the smile to rise on his face ) "....Jon Garland and Dontrelle Willis....too bad they were too stupid to keep them....by the way, how are Matt Karchner and Matt Clement doing for the Cubbies this year?" ( Enjoy watching the smile fade away )
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 12, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) Absolutely nothing. f*** the Cubs. Why would I want to give them, or any of their fans my money? Spend your money at our own park, on our team. ABSOLUTELY correct. I agree 100% Pay face value to see the Sox and Twins at US Cellular Field. That game will mean 1000 times more than any game vs. the Cubs. Plus, that's money you put back into the White Sox and not the gouging machine known as TribCo.
  23. Vic Vacume and the Attachments The Artist Formally Known As Vince Oh My God Captured! By Robots
  24. On my honeymoon, getting ready to go out for the evening, I tell my wife: "Hang on a sec, baby.....Frank's up!" Then after a 3-run jack to dead center: "okay....NOW we can go!!" I luuuuuv that story...... #35!!!!!
