  1. While the radio is 99.99999999% awful, I HAVE found some decent new music on Q101's "Indie Night" on Sundays. They have three good shows back-to-back-to-back starting at 7pm: 7 - 8 pm Crash Test Radio 8 - 9 pm TBA 9 - 10pm Local 101 It's a very welcome diversion from their usual playlist, and then it's followed by Loveline, which I really enjoy listening to. Makes for a very cool Sunday night of radio.
  2. Forgot ALL ABOUT Process Of Belief. Only heard clips off of it and wasn't impressed. I really like the songs I've heard of The Empire Strikes First, though.
  3. I think the possibility probably rises for the spouse of a cheater to cheat in return, but I wonder if there have been any studies on this? Just for me personally, cheating is about the only thing I don't think I could forgive, especially if it wasn't a one-time thing. A one-timer would be bad enough, but a relationship outside of ours would be 100% unforgivable. But I wouldn't "cheat back", I'd likely just get out.
  4. First off, If you're referring to ME as a "j-hole", then I must be doing something right, because I almost never agree with you anyway. I don't consider myself liberal conservative, left or right wing. I agree with some of each side's views, but I don't walk in lockstep with any ideological bent. I take things issue by issue and make up my own mind. Secondly, I put "Christians" in parentheses because TRULY spiritual people don't piss on other people - it's these holier-than-thou control freak thought-police f***heads who give good people of ANY religion a bad name. And WHY NOT let gays have a shot at marriage? It's not like heterosexuals have PERFECTED it yet, and we've had all of eternity to try.
  5. Bad Religion and Green Day are both great bands. BR has more literate lyrics - I like their lyrical style a lot. GD is more aggressive musically for the most part, at least until the last 2 discs. I have to say that the new Green Day bored me a bit, while the new Bad Religion is better than their last one, The New America.
  6. Yeah, it's really good - it's called I Had A Hammer, and I recommend it highly.
  7. Truth. Interpol has a decent sonic "mood", if that makes sense, to their songs, but it all sounds way too derivative. The obvious and most stated "influence" is to Joy Division, and it made me laugh to read the singer's claim that he "never really attempted to copy Ian Curtis' singing voice". No, of course not, your singing voice just HAPPENS to be an exact replica of his.....mmmmmm hmmmmmm.......
  8. They're ok. I like a couple songs of theirs, but don't have or want their CDs. There's plenty of worse bands out there, though, like the aforementioned Franz Ferdinand.
  9. A VERY sad statistic which again sidetracks me: Whenever I hear that homophobic "Christian" bulls*** about gay couples endangering "The Sanctity Of Marriage", it's funny how stats like this are conveniently ignored.....
  10. Sorry to hear that. I don't like anything I've heard from them. This whole "alternative disco" thing ( for lack of a better term ) leaves me cold.
  11. Yeah, it's called The System Has Failed, and it's pretty good. Not a complete return to form, but much better than their past couple discs. I say "their" when I really should say "his", cuz it's mostly about Mustaine.
  12. I enjoy biographies and have recently read the biography or autobiography of: Johnny Cash - a little too preachy religious for me, but I sort of expected it so it didn't ruin the book for me Vince McMahon - I particularly enjoyed this one, lots of behind-the-scenes dirt on the WWF ( WWE, whatever....f***in' panda-huggers....) Sting ( the aging former rock star, not the aging former wrestler ) Hulk Hogan ( the aging former wrestler ) Hank Aaron - another very good book that really makes you understand the hate he endured
  13. I don't look to Matt Stone or Trey Parker for anything other than irreverant entertainment. But I have no problem with what he said. Sean Penn would probably lose that stupid look on his face if he got the stick out of his ass.
  14. What I'm listening to today: On the train: The Riverboat Gamblers - THANK YOU to Kid Gleason for hooking me up with this CD!!! It's good, sloppy ROCK in the same category as The Supersuckers, and the entire disc is a ROCKIN' good time! ( Did I mention at all that they ROCK??? ) When I get home: Anthrax - Music Of Mass Destruction The live CD/DVD of the December 2003 show at the Metro - this disc KILLS!
  15. I really hope they're playing someone else next week, though. As good as those games were, the same teams over and over can get boring on tape in a hurry. Again I repeat, I REALLY hope they got the rights to some older games - my dream come true would be some of the early 70's games with Mikita, Hull, Esposito, etc etc etc. and/or the Savard/Secord/Larmer era of the early to mid 80s.
  16. I dig Shingo. SHINGOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
  17. Until I read THAT sentence, I had always wondered how you could POSSIBLY be so woefully uninformed about everything! :finger
  18. Ahhh, that's OK, I won't even be home! Trick-or-treating with the kid during the day, and RAWKIN OWWT at the Double Door at night!!! ....and STAY OFF MY LAWN, YA LITTLE NE'ER-DO-WELL!!!!!!!
  19. Thanks for that helpful information. Hadn't seen that posted anywhere in this thread.... :finger
  20. The season finale will be shown on Comedy Central on Saturday. I think it's at 7pm, I haven't watched much of this season. What I did see was particularly awful, especially when I turned it on only to see the horrifying visage of one LOUIE ANDERSON! AAAAAGGGGGHHHH!!!! Then after him came the Comedy Anti-Christ, CARROT TOP!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! They had instituted some sort of "celebrity guest comic" for each team, which is a CLEAR sign of desperation. Instead of bringing back every member of both seasons, they should IMO have only brought back Mordal, Vos, Cantrell, Bowden, Gulman, Heffron and Pescatelli ( for the cleavage ). Put THEM in a house and let's go! Oh, and they could have driven Dat Phan into the ground in front of the house as a lawn jockey, as long as they soldered his mouth shut.
  21. Well, I'm f***ing stunned - the StL/Hou game IS on Fox. Spankees v. Red Cubs on FSN Chicago.
  22. There is NO WAY the owners could just drop it all and start up a new league without SERIOUS charges of unfair labor negotiations and union-busting, and that would definitely end up in court. It would set a very dangerous precedent and I think ALL labor unions would join the NHLPA's fight if the owners attempted that. It's simply not that easy, especially in these hyper-litigious times we live in.
  23. 71. That's a little optimistic.
  24. That move would get tied up in court for yeeeaaaarrrrssss.
  25. Clemens seems like he could go seriously psycho. Sabathia and Bartolo could bring the Sumo! Larry Walker's got the Crazy Eyes, plus he's a hockey guy, so you know he's thrown hands at some point.
