  1. Also true, BUT if done properly, that out puts you in the position of only needing a single to tie the game, rather than an extra base hit. If the Sox had more players who knew how and/or were willing to shorten their stroke and go for what the situation calls for, a bunt is a solid strategic play. If you have all-or-nothing free-swinging, long-loopy-swingers, a bunt might not be best for them, even though it would be the best play to make.
  2. True, but last night was one of those rare situations, and Burke failed miserably. Bunted it to maybe the worst possible spot, the first baseman ( the pitcher maybe being the other ). But of course, the 3-run homer SAVES THE DAY AGAIN!
  3. Just as an aside, as far as derogatory nicknames go, Crediocre > Cruddy
  4. You're entitled to your opinion, but one good night against a pretty bad KC team doesn't change my opinion of him overall. I still don't believe that he's the answer at 3B.
  5. FYI: Freddy Garcia pitching pretty well for Sox. As we've seen, good pitchers are harder to come by than good outfielders. I'd rather have Freddy. As far as being FA's, that's true, but IMO trading for Freddy gave the Sox a MUCH better chance of locking him in long-term than trying to lure him here in the offseason. I thought all along that Reed will be a good player for them, as will Olivo, but the Sox need starting pitching more than they needed an outfielder. Unfortunately, it wasn't Bonus Baby to go to Seattle, but life goes on.
  6. Wow. For all the bad at-bats and poor defensive play this year, this kind of night might fool the Sox brass to keep him there. Glad to see the bomb, but I still hope to see a new 3B next year.
  7. Ohhhhhh, it was FAUX.....well, that's different then...... By the way, all things Britney are getting VERY boring.
  8. Meatmen?????? I liked them as a goof, but I'd never put them on a serious list of bands.
  9. Bad Religion is also VERY good.
  10. Awwwwww, if the wedding was fake, does that mean the matching velour track suits that said "Pimp" on them are fake too????? DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!! I was SO gonna buy me one of them PIMPIN track suits!
  11. Couldn't make it anyway, even if I wanted to go. Daughter's birthday is right around that date, and we always have the family party for her on the closest weekend. Either way, fan conventions are just not my thing. Smells too "Star Trek" for me....
  12. I'd have gone with Diarrhea, from all the s***ty at-bats.
  13. I listened to American Idiot on "The Leak" on mtv.com - I was bored by it. Strings, slower tempos, etc etc - me no likey. I prefer the short bursts of pop-punk on their earlier CDs. I respect their desire to grow musically and try new things, I just won't be going along for the ride. The Clash, however....... London Calling is timeless!
  14. Yeah, but to be fair, Loggins and Messina showed up on that list, too.
  15. Wow, I knew the Twins were playing this "poor small-market franchise" thing to the hilt, but filing for BANKRUPTCY? That's taking the joke a bit too far.... ....ohhhhhh....THOSE Twinkies........
  16. Serious consideration has to go to JosE6 Valentin(e). His "clubhouse leadership" kept his declining batting average around here way too long.
  17. SIGN ME UP! I'll just set the wayback machine for 1992.....and PRESTO, I'm 29 years old!!!!! TEEEEEN GATHURINZ RAWK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Paulie A bright spot in a very disappointing season. Didn't realize it was only Frank and Joey before Paulie... ...all this time and only 2 ( now 3 ) 40-bomb guys....yikes.
  19. Ahhh, says YOU! And just in case you didn't know ( and it's pretty obvious you DON'T ), a superior Stone impression is a leading indicator of a superior taste in women. It's true, I saw a study on it somewhere.....no really, I did..... On a semi-related subject, the main reason I wanted Anna to win on "The Assistant" was the fact that she looked kinda like Jessica. Too bad Andy Dick has pitiful taste in women, keeping that beak-nosed broad around til the end....ugh....
  20. I agree completely. Your manager shouldn't have to tell you to drill someone if you think they did something cheap. If anyone should have "grown a pair", it was whoever was pitching the next time Hunter came to the plate. If these guys were waiting for marching orders instead of doing what they thought needed to be done, then THAT is more likely to be what "killed" the Sox this year. ...although I think the loss of the heart of the order, lack of a competitive #4 or 5 starter, stubborness of sticking with Koch as the closer, and the ever-present "Swing For The Fences" mentality were the main causes of this year's disappointment...
  21. Redbirds. Always been a fan. Second choice, Oakland.
  22. I have to say that I think Alba is better-looking than anyone on that list. She's really cute and from what I've seen of her on interview type shows, she's got a good family background, so she's less likely to be nuts.

    Job Search

Did you look under "foodservice" or specifically under "dishwasher"?
  24. I hated listening to the SlackHawks on the Score, because I'd usually fall asleep during the Hawks game ( big shock there, huh? ) and then wake up to the nauseating sounds of either that Fox Sports Radio guy or Mike Murphy. UGH. I NEVER listen to the Score intentionally except for hockey games, which obviously won't be happening for a LONG time. So I will luckily, thankfully not be able to give an opinion about Mike North's morning show.
  25. Hey, do you have any larger pictures of the cat? I can barely see it in that tiny itsy-bitsy little picture you posted.
