COOL! I have a DEGREE in *********!!!!! And everyone told me that my degree would never come in handy! HA! THE LAST LAUGH WILL BE MINE!!!!

The good thing about the lockout is that the Wolves will get a nice attendance boost from the diehards who need to see some hockey, like myself. They put a better product on the ice AND put on a better show for the money than the Wirtz Family Circus anyway.

Wow, someone came up with the clever, original and exciting idea to make a movie from a 70's TV show? How completely intriguing and pulse-quickening. :sleep Another movie on my "Don't Fail To Miss" list.

Instead of daaa daa daa dummmmm.... it should be daaa daadaaaaaaaaaah.....daa daaDAHHHHHH.....daaa daaa DAAAH daaa daa DAAAH daa daa DAHHHHHH.... ( does that look like "Taps"? ) That breeze you'll feel tomorrow? Just the wind from an entire country yawning.

Please believe me when I say that I'm NOT saying this in your case or your parents' case, but a lot of the time, that one material possession is purchased for the sole purpose of a judgment being made. The "right" sneakers, the "right" clothes, the "right" car, etc etc etc, all gotten for the "right" impression to be made. ....that's why I got my 1993 Suzuki Sidekick, YO.....

I immediately thought about that. Quote Jackass Jay: "Once a White Sox, always a White Sox." Bets on how close that quote comes to what he'll say?

How would you feel about getting Billy Koch?
The Critic replied to AngelasDaddy0427's topic in Pale Hose Talk
How would I feel? Sick to my stomach, probably. -
I haven't read the column, nor will I most likely, but I can safely agree with everything you just said. Jackass Jay is a complete waste of newsprint and airwave space. His time slot would be better utilized cleaning the transmitter.

Good when healthy, not very healthy the past couple of years. Heard today that his minor-league teammates nicknamed him "Glass" because "he was always broken" ( hurt ).

Looking at Oprah's audience, a new car would NOT be to blame for a heart attack.

I pick mine at Jewel. MUCH easier, no trees or bushels, they're right there in a display case and they provide handy plastic bags to place the apples in. YAY!

I hope not. I think with Gload, less is more and more would definitely be less. Good bench player/spot starter, keep it that way.

Depends on how many pitchers/managers have the stones to play the game, pitch to him and try to get him out. I can see walking him when the situation calls for it, but the amount of intentional and "unintentional intentional" walks he gets is ridiculous. At some point you have to grow a pair and try to get the guy out. As I've said in almost every other Bonds thread ever, I don't like him at all, but you have to admire his assault on one of the most revered records the game has to offer. Unless he suffers some sort of severe injury, it's only a matter of time until he hits 756 and then some. He's been truly amazing, the past few seasons especially.

Was thinking about going on Monday, decided not to waste my time. If I'm going to USCF, I'm going to see the Sox, regardless of how they're doing. That's their house, and I'm a Sox fan. Besides, I got my fill of the Fish today when my Cub fan nephew took me to the Crumbling Confines to see the 11-1 thumping they handed the Baby Bears. They completely made up for the Red Sawks whomping the Sox when I took my nephew to USCF. Nothing I could see tomorrow would be funnier than the overthrow competition displayed by the Cubbies' "Corner Cancers", So-So and PeePee Hands.

All the more reason to root for the Marlins to win the Wild Card. Back on topic, the reason my posts are down a bit is: 1. Busier at work/busier at home 2. Sox are frustrating right now, win or lose - when they play like they did today, it's depressing and when they win 8 of 11, the "too little too late" factor drives me nuts. 3. Lots of family events this month keeping me out of the house or busy otherwise

Yes, get there first, sit in the first row. That kind of thing.

Guillen said the reason Showalter keeps one hand in his pocket when he makes a pitching change is "so he doesn't lose the key to baseball that he keeps there when he runs on the field". I don't care if it was unprofessional or not ( I personally think "fight fire with fire", but that's just me ), that comment is FUNNY.

Just saw Chet Coppock doing one of those football prediction hotline things and it reminded me that at one point in the past, he was trying to be the "King Of Chicago Sports Talk Radio". If you think there was ever a "Golden Age Of Chicago Sports Talk Radio", just remember that the two top guys in town were Coppock and Chuck Swirsky. :puke There WAS no Golden Age, just a different era of crap.

I have no problem trying young players, just not those particular players. Willie may have some upside, but I don't like the thought of Timo or Gload everyday, and Uribe I'm on the fence about. I wouldn't be TOO upset about him playing everyday, but I wouldn't be jumping for joy either. When some of the kids in the low minors are deemed "ready", I'm all for giving them a shot. Gload I could POSSIBLY see as the 1B if Konerko is dealt for a front-of-the-rotation starter, but where else could he play everyday?
-
IMHO: With the exception of Aaron Rowand and the two-headed catcher, everyone else on that list is a bench player on a decent team. If the Sox have to start all of them ( Uribe, Harris, Perez and Gload ), that will spell BAD NEWS for the 2005 Chicago White Sox. You could MAYBE start 2 of them every day and be a decent team, but not all 4. No one on that list except Rowand ( and maybe Harris - a BIG maybe ) could be an everyday RF on a good club. ...now I'm depressed....thanks .....

Unbelievably sad and tragic. My family's prayers and best wishes go out to you and yours as well. Stay strong.
