As reported in an earlier angry thread , I went to see the Wolves last Saturday and it was great....until they dropped the puck....

Job hunting is always very difficult, especially nowadays. I'd suggest scouring the online job sources as well as the papers and just keep throwing resumes everywhere. I know that's not much help, but I hope your search is successful and doesn't take too long.

For me, the funniest part was her complete inability to turn the ship around. All she had to do, if she had any stage presence or any ability to think on her feet, was stop the band, tell them which song they were supposed to play ( assuming they were playing the wrong one as she said ) and start the correct song over. Instead, she hopped around like a grade-school Riverdancer and walked offstage. It was a very funny sight indeed.

Cardinals are definitely in a hole right now. Heading home, though, which should help, especially if that "special" strike zone turns in their favor.... Gotta give the Red Stockings credit, though - they're banging enough to cover their dreadful defense. 8 errors in 2 games = BAD. Winning both those games = REAL good.

I think Chelios will help them out in two ways: 1. He can set an example for the young players on conditioning and hard work. 2. Hopefully he can give John Anderson a reason to keep Greg "No Good" Hawgood's tired old weak ass ON THE BENCH. He's constantly out of position and can't skate well enough to get back into position. He's also worthless on the power play, as he has NO shot from the point at all AND isn't a great passer either. If Anderson pairs Chelios with NoGood, then Cheli will be of NO help at all.

Yeah, there's something loose upstairs on that guy. He just looks like you can't talk to him - like he'd look you in the eye and you still wouldn't know if the lights are on. He was pretty effective this year....until last night....

Yeah, they stole the game 3-2 in OT. Got outplayed throughout, but Travis Roche tied the game on a goal-mouth scramble with 2 seconds left in the game. Then Roche scored a NICE goal off a turnover at center ice in OT to win it.

Dude, I didn't say the ENTIRE AHL sucks. I said the WOLVES suck. With the exception of the last 1.8 seconds of the 3rd period and one turnover in OT, the Admirals played a VERY good game. They're faster than the Wolves, apply more consistent offensive pressure, force more turnovers in the open ice and hit hard. There's a reason that they won the AHL championship last season. They're a very good minor-league hockey team. And THAT's "what the f*** I expect" when I see a game in a league that's "not the NHL". The NHL is NOT the only place to see competitive hockey. I'm just disappointed in how the Wolves have started this season - I'm not optimistic about them at all.

They STOLE a game from the Admirals tonight. Got outplayed the entire night and scored a cheapy with 2 seconds left to force OT. Scored a sweet goal to win it in OT, but still a TERRIBLE game. Greg Hawgood is f***ing AWFUL. What a slow-footed sloppy team, with ZERO offensive pressure. TWO 5-on-3's that lead to NOTHING. Nothing I saw tonight raised my opinion about this year's Wolves team. They're pretty bad.

They're over two weeks into the regular season, and they're not even negotiating. They have no plans to meet anytime soon, and the teams are releasing their dates for the next month on a rolling basis forward. Each week that passes, the teams release their arenas for other events another week. It's sickening, the disregard that they all have for the health of their sport. Each side claims to have the "best interests of the game" in mind, but really they're just trying to move their agenda forward. It's sad, and the saddest part is that ALMOST NO ONE cares.

Not to mention that the Yankee leadoff hitter couldn't figure out how to bunt on a one-legged pitcher on a wet field....clutch....heady.....crafty veteran....

I don't miss the NHL that much yet, but I know once the World Series is over, I'm gonna start to miss it MUCH more. I don't give a half-a-damn about football or basketball, and the Wolves will be my only weekly sports fix.
