  1. I did a study on crede when I got Into statistics in college. You could argue he's the most clutch player in the history of baseball. The difference between his regular performance and his clutch performance is by far the best In baseball in the past 40 years, blew Ortiz out of the water but Ortiz was obviously much better typically. His numbers with risp, risp 2 outs, bases loaded, and lips situations is remarkable.
  2. I'm still a matt foster Stan. Poor man Keith foulk maybe
  3. Needs to cal up crede and ask him how it's done. Joe would be In the hof if he only came up in big spots
  4. Gotta say, you know something negative about every player regardless of how great they are and I respect that about you lol
  5. Vs a lefty too. Gotta start taking the balls again. 1 bb would be nice lol and we know I'm the biggest ta guy around
  6. Lol no. That's not at all what it means. It means the guy with cerebral palsy didn't actually play in the mlb so he defers on things related to that kind of expertise to the guy that actually did... which is his job. Time to move on from this, ta7 bout to go yack ball
  7. Again that's literally his job. Stone is the analyst, benetti is the play by play guy.
  8. Yeah that was awful. I remember that. At least with Walton he embraced how little he knew and played into it.
  9. This is how I see it as well. He adds his thoughts on analytics and advanced metrics steve isn't about and defers to Steve on the other side of the game.
  10. Hes asking the opinion of his analyst which is literally his job. Stone is supposed to be the "expert" on certain areas and he flatters and defers to that expertise.
  11. Played the game for 18 years. I've never thought benetti is clueless. Him and stone not knowing what pitchers were looking at in their hat was weird and embarrassing, but I've never thought benetti was ignorant about the game. He can be overly complimentary sometimes but that's what it is. Guess we can just agree to disagree.
  12. Really messed up thing is if the Sox win and don't give up this lead at any point, Marshall will get the win lol
  13. Good thing Marshall has a long leash and Dylan is on a choker.
  14. Lol this nonsense again. Benetti probably does more homework on broadcasts, opposing team and the game than 95% of broadcasters.
  15. Youre basically telling the kid if he ever gets in trouble he's done. Is what it is. I think we're gonna score about 8+ tonight so it wouldn't have mattered. Oh well.
  16. They have a 3 run lead vs a terrible team that's already in their bullpen. This was a prime chance to let him work through it
  17. The walks are bad and the whip near two isn't great but the guy had given up 3 hits. I just dont like it at all. He'll never grow as a pitcher without getting the chance to work through some jams. This rangers team is bad, and there was room to let him work through this imo
  18. And I get he was struggling there. I just dont see how he improves if he never works through anything. Tough spot in general.
  19. When will Dylan cease ever be allowed to pitch into a game and give up runs? I hate the quick hook there honestly.
  20. This really comes down to how much value you want to put on 62 games and 54 game base running metrics. Me personally? I don't put much weight on those numbers. From an offensive (non BSR) standpoint Madrigal and Moncada have been very similar production wise. Defensively you could argue Moncada was a little better but he was not a good 2nd baseman either. Moncada had a lower wRC+ of 99 a wOBA of .319 and an OPS of 730. Madrigal has a wRC+ of 110, a wOBA of 327 and an OPS of .732. Maybe you think Madrigal is actually the worst defensive 2nd baseman in the game and one of the worst base runners, but I find that difficult to believe so I'll reserve my analysis in those two areas. Offensively is where I think the comparisons are more aptly mad.
  21. There's not a scout on planet earth who is more accurate than a well put together projection model. The scout may nail a couple players that a projection model wiffs on or misses, which is why scouts still have value, but if you give both the scout and the model the same list of every single player to analyze, the scout will almost never be more accurate in their 3-5-7 year projections. I left a .00000000000001 possibility because I felt like being kind. No one is saying scouts don't still have value, but Harold's insinuation that he trusts his thoughts on every player over statistical models is not based in reality, and unless he's a literal machine, his brain can not process enough information efficiently to achieve that task.
  22. Most people tend to think they're smarter than computers and projection models. Facts will tell you that those people are almost always (99.99999999999%) less accurate over a large enough sample.
  23. Through Yoan Moncada's first 62 big league games he played like a back up as well. Weird.
  24. Reasons one and two are incredibly douchey and irresponsible of the organization. Not saying you're wrong, but if that's actually the thought process that's really messed up.
  25. So my post to you is a personal attack but people posting oompa loompa posts for Madrigal are good natured ribbings? How did I attack you lol? You honestly can't make this up. I can respond to anyone I please, thank you. After all, what's the point of a message board if you can't interact with posters and talk about posts? Isn't that what you say all the time? Thank you for proving my point regarding your sensitivity though.
