Madrigal to the IL/Delmonico Optioned
Look at Ray Ray Run replied to ShoeLessRob's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yup, this was my thought and I also think he just needs to push through it but there's not a lot of science supporting that yet. -

Yup, sounds like there's nothing diagnosed and he's dealing with general fatigue - possibly exasperated by COVID even though people say "he wasn't reallly sick" - and you need to push through that fatigue to build that muscle base back up. -

2021 World Series Sox vs. Padres
Look at Ray Ray Run replied to caulfield12's topic in The Diamond Club
So you linked an article that said he would play 2nd base, after I said he'd liked play 2nd base. He won't play short stop because this guy named Corey Seager plays there. Another geezer on the Dodgers you may have overlooked. And yes, Muncy is better than his prospect status was but I have no idea what that has to do with him and Lux; if anything, it makes them even more dissimilar as Lux is an elite prospect. -

Uh no, gavin lux will be a starter and he will play 2nd base everyday; he will not be a utility guy playing all over the field. He is also nothing like Max Muncy. -

The dodgers are better than the padres now and they have MORE young talent than the padres. Hope that clarifies things. I can't wait until your next tatis thread. -

Just in case caufield forgot he argued earlier today that the dodgers weren't as good going forward as the padres -

So this was caufield calling the dodgers great apparently. Guy asked if trading Verdugo for betts was a bad move hahaha Let's review. Caufield calls padres the best young team In nl and the future best team in the NL. Someone points out the dodgers. Caufield says they're "weak" in all these places. I point out the dodgrrs arent just old and great but young and great too. Caufield said he never said the dodgers weren't the ones to beat.... So moral of the story is caufield just wanted to bring the padres and tatis up again. -

Yes, someone who will not have even appeared in a game above A ball going into 2021 is going to lead the Rays to a World Series title. What is old about the Dodgers? They have a top tier farm system with an elite MLB product.. No idea where you see them falling off. They literally have no where for Garvin Lux to play currently and you're calling them not deep ha -

Cleveland has the worst offense in baseball. I'd be surprised if they won the division. -

the only thing toxic about soxtalk is the game threads. i've said that many times. it's a bunch of guys critiquing every move because they read a stat once. sox pitching collective output is better than the individual talent of the unit. usually a manager is directing a staff well then. -

What did you see? Explain to me what you saw in Dylan that was different than innings past. VElocity the same. Spin on his off-speed, the same. Nothing said he was tiring. He was as dangerous as he was earlier; he floated a breaking ball - something he had also done earlier in the game. Schwarber didn't miss. that's baseball. the humor of all of this is you constantly saying i defend ricky. I said yesterday he was a HORRIBLE strategic manager. I find it absolutely hilarious that the things SOxtalk complain about the most, are actually the things that you could argue ricky isn't really bad or good at; the pitching staff performance is a better indicator of a pitchers handling than soxtalk posters opinions. sox are overperforming. people are being maximized. that tells me the manager, who knows more about his guys because he actually works with them directly, likely has a better idea than you about things. -

The sox are in the process of trying to build Cease up period. They already got screwed by the shortened season in the year you'd like to get him near 200 IP. Now you want to limit him to 5 innings a start and 80-90 pitches. That's a wasted year of arm strength growth/development imo. -

Darvish has been fantastic; wish Ross treated him like Soxtalk posters want to treat every starter. -

no, because their starters are bad anddddd because no one had time to build up arm strength as usual so guys were throwing fewer innings and pitches. The only way to change that? YUou guessed it... to throw more innings and pitches in a start. -

Said it below, but Sox have warmed guys up in a second plenty of time. I still remember a classic Jon Garland story though regarding that. For his entire career before ozzie, whenever he got into trouble he said he'd turn around and look at the bullpen getting ready knowing he was done. then in one of his first few starts with guillen as manager, he loaded the bases and looked to the bullpen to see no one warming up. guillen came out and asked him what the fuck he was looking at, this was his mess. Garland went on to change as a pitcher after that and he credits that. I'm not saying that's what just happened at all, for the record, i"m just saying these are human beings. Not statistical robots out there to product their baseball card. -

The sox have warmed up guys 1 batter before pulling him multiple times already this season. Cease got out of the inning. Guys give up runs sometimes. That's how the game works. Cease was rolling. To pull him is just an idiotic move made by a bunch of doomsday panicked forum posters. -

Oh, the Sox have used their relievers plenty. And you guys don't want ANY reliever in the game. You want the same guys in every single game that is close and you want them in before the 7th inning. Even when the starter is rolling. It's just hilarious. -

Yes, a great way to develop a young pithcer is to always say you're not good enough to go into the 6th, or throw starter pitch counts, even though you just got 5 outs last inning and pitched around your defense crushing you. He made one mistake that inning; he wasn't tired. Shit happens. My lord. this is just nauseating to read. GO TO THE BULLPEN for every single decision. It's embarrassing. -

yes, starters should never ever give up runs. Cease goes 6 IP and gives up 2 runs and you clowns are shaming the coach. This is just a joke at this point. -

Damn McCann, thought he should have went high fastball there. Oh, and before anyone said Ricky should have pulled him; it's very obvious Ricky is getting these guys up past 100 pitches on purpose right now. The Sox are half way through the season, guys need to get ready. Cease has been great. You guys act like anytime someone gives up a hit they should be done. SMH. -

I have issues with taking a 2 minute break during the middle of a 2-2 count. I can't take a two minute break as the fcking hitter. Pitchers suck -
