Thanks Yermin, I understand that; I'm saying a reliever should almost receive credit for stranding a runner that he inherits in some way.

And I'll add what Rick Renteria is doing to Jimmy Cordero is criminal; even if Cordero says he feels good every day. I also think stranded runners should lower a relievers ERA based on the expected runs scored when he enters the game. Cordero's ERA is inflated but he's actually been pretty damn good this year.

The overuse of the bullpen has been building up since the first couple of weeks. Guys always want to know why certain guys aren't pitching and certain are and it has a lot to do with the year long management as well as the day to day. The White Sox are averaging 4.85 IP per Start; it's not good, but it's actually not anywhere near the worst this year. The Red Sox are only getting 3.8 IP per start. The Sox are actually 11th in baseball in IP per start, so they are not alone in this issue. Is that different than most years? The Sox would be on pace to throw 785 IP with their starters over the course of a 162 game season. Last year that would have ranked them 26th out of 30 teams in all of baseball in fewest IP by starters. That means clearly this year has moved the needled heavily in favor of bullpens. What does that mean? Really, who knows. If the Bullpens are worn down earlier, it could lead to a higher scoring post season or more reliance on the starters to go longer since they were the ones preserved earlier in the season. If Cease can figure it out that bodes well for the Sox, imo, as the starting pitching around baseball is struggling in general. Last year, White Sox relievers threw 574 IP in 162 games; this year, the Sox are on pace to throw 235 innings in just 60 games, which would equate to 634.6 IP in the course of a regular year. The Sox are leaning on their bullpen significantly more than years past, and they're hoping it bends at points but never breaks. Time will tell, but next time you're wondering why Renteria doesn't pull every starter at the first sign of weakness, this is why.

defensively he reminds me of a buxton clone. great reads and jumps; always a straight line path to the ball. no rounded routes. someone who reads the sound more than the barrel speed naturally. offensively he's just light years ahead of young buxton. robert has a chance to be in that conversation people dont like putting young players into

Keuchel has more games pitched past the 5th innings than 85% of baseball this year.

hahaha I've always really loved Buxton. As a former significantly worse CF'er, I always have a bias there, and when you account for his overall game and greatness out there it's impossible for me to not be envious. I was scared he would skill us tonight and I was sadly wrong, even though he did kill us I'd rather see Byron healthy than banged up... although that hurts the sox.

Buxton has figured it out. Injuries have held him back a little this year but he figured it out in the middle of last year.

That's why Mazara is still below average out there. Jesus. Not an easy play but one a good fielder makes.

I mean.. there's only 3-4 guys in baseball getting there and 2 of them play for the White Sox but agree that he acted like it was a legendary homer lol. That said he's calling them based on the same feed as us.

Thank GOD for advanced Metrics. People praised guys like jim Edmonds for years. Luis won't make a ton of diving plays and etc because his reads and jumps are like Keirmeier/Buxton/Druw and etc. Those guys make great plays but they're not highlight reels because they make hard plays look so damn easy.

he really never throws strikes lol. Since 2017 he has the 2nd lowest zone % (pitches thrown in the zone) in all of baseball. He throws 36.5% of his pitches for strikes. People just swing at them

He was embarrassed last year and worked his tail off. There was a story about it with Vaughn following his lead and etc this off-season. I believe it. Guy is a hard worker.

Danny has a very small edge over both, and to be honest might have a 2-3 year stretch where he starts somewhere mediocre, but in general he is a similar player. Danny has a bit more plate discipline and power in his game day bat. Gordon should have had more power but it never played up. Regardless, Yolmer is a really nice utility piece. He was cut from the Giants because they suck and didn't want to start an old guy. He will have a home on a contender for the next 3-4 years because he can defend. He may not get the invite until later in the year, but he'll be there at some point.
