  1. Maybe parents should educate their kids on the health concerns of tobacco and Jose abreu can do whatever he pleases with his body given that its legal? I'm also almost positive that smokeless tobacco is banned at comiskey.
  2. Maybe he doesn't have six pack abs like you Ron. Risky proposition.
  3. The % of making that play was less than 10%. A 105+ mph one hopped line drive tailing hard is not a play someone makes typically or is expected to make. I know you would have made it Ron. But we can't expect everyone to have your skills.
  4. Umpire does it again. 3-0 pitch is out of the zone and the umpire gives the pitcher a break. Just maddenining.
  5. There is zero chance Tim Anderson will be given an error on that ball.
  6. Was more than a "tough" ball. At best he keeps it in front of him. He wasn't gloving that ball.
  7. Lol the ball was one hopped at about 110 mph. I've been as critical as anyone so far of Tim but ripping him for not making that play is a bit much.
  8. Just a quick review but pretty much every single starting pitcher who threw well yesterday (with the exception of the Houston game) threw more than 92 pitches. Bauer threw 107. Citing health concerns for letting giolito face two batters after giving up the hit is way over the top. Yoan, flash and no finish.
  9. Yes. I think this as well. Giolito needed to be given a chance to get out of it and pitch from the stretch. His job isnt to protect giolito. It's to help him grow.
  10. Besides the short arm action, by far the biggest change and best change for giolito is the pace in which hes working. Actually can find rhythm this way.
  11. Nothing bothers me more than an umpire giving a pitcher a pitch off the plate when they cant find the zone.
  12. Yes, this is my main take away so far. See if it's sustainable deception or they figure it out 2nd 3rd time through
  13. Palka is 27 years old. Has no position. Struck out 153 times In 473 at bats and doesnt walk. He is not a major league outfielder and never will be.
  14. Just searched and this was the most I could find but as kurkjian says, teams just dont do it anymore. It's not just the white Sox. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwj2m7nq_6rhAhWJLHwKHQoxCFEQzPwBegQIARAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fabcnews.go.com%2FSports%2Fimprove-defense-make-teams-daily-infield-practice%2Fstory%3Fid%3D36471960&psig=AOvVaw2pgOfAtwkfT4_E-QPBY19F&ust=1554074241977970
  15. Teams don't take long infield anymore - across the entire sport. Practice time has been cut in baseball over the past two decades - not just for the white Sox but for everyone. I'm sure a someone who is around the team more can verify that it's not as if other teams are out there for an hour and the Sox spend 5 minutes. It's why I asked what extensive infield is. Teams dont do that anymore.
  16. Doesnt matter. Tim needs to stop with the errors. He's too talented defensively for it.
  17. Ventura was the laziest manager in baseball. He was disinterested. Nothing would surprise me there. I dont know what "extensive infield" practice means.
  18. If you think Jayson nix somehow forgot all the fundamentals that made him incredibly good, idk what to tell you. If you think it somehow went away because he didnt take infield or something, idk man. Nix was just a funny story that I'll never forget. Amazing what happened to that guy.
  19. There is a larger problem but as a professional in anything, you are accountable for your own actions. While Rick continues to put those dopes on the field, it's still their fault that they're dopes. If that makes sense. It's the Sox fault for putting someone like palka out there but its palkas fault he sucks. No one elses.
  20. I cant stand Rick - I edited my post to add that after the fact. He's far too old school for me but the guy understands the fundamentals of the game. He just doesnt understand basic math
