  1. Whichever team gave him the 300 million he wanted.
  2. Says who? You guys are just projecting. The Sox don't sign the best players becasue they don't offer the most money. End of story.
  3. The only person playing for the Cubs vs the Sox would make a tangible difference to is Bryce Harper, and even then the difference is likely not much.
  4. I'm not sure what I disagree with more, that the vast majority of players care about anything but money, or that the Chicago White Sox are less desirable than the Tampa Bay Rays.
  5. We have already seen this proven to be completely false when bumped against the Luxury tax.
  6. The Sox are in a position where adding a handful of 2-3 win players will give them a chance. I want them to aim higher than that, but the absolute dumbest thing they can do is sit on their hands and do absolutely nothing, burning more core years in the process. A 2 win RF, DH, and Pitcher are probably honestly worth more like, what 10 wins for this team when you account for the holes that they'd be filling?
  7. I don't hate it if you add one more pitcher and find someone to play right and have Castellanos DH.
  8. Tack Calhoun on there, NC becomes your everyday DH. That could play. Not a perfect fit, but that's a much better lineup.
  9. Then he's gone next year. Him taking the QO is much better than getting some gift deal from the Sox.
  10. Take the 25 mil a year you planned to spend on JD and give it to Grandal and Calhoun and call it a day on the offense.
  11. 18 mil is way to much for abreu, but for a year I can't really bring myself to be upset about it.
  12. Well it was a fun thought exercise
  13. Sox should call on Inciarte tbh
  14. I mean non-tender and resign
  15. I think I'd rather just bring Yolmer back tbh
  16. 'Yeah the White Sox won the 2022 World Series, but quite frankly the process was garbage'
  17. This bit is the absolute worst thing in the world, but is fascinating on a psychological level.
  18. If you're only interested in signing top of the top pitchers, you're going to be throwing Ross Detwilers and Odrisamer Despaignes for a loooooooooooooong time.
  19. Just decreased his odds of not getting non tendered
  20. There wouldn't be a point of the exclusive negotiation window if the player can just choose to bypass it.
  21. I'm a fan, one out specialists suck. I'd prefer two, but I'm fine with three.
  22. Are players in exclusive negotiations not considered official free agents?
  23. Yeah, the problem isn't that they're selling off the slot, it's that they haven't already used it. After you failed to spend it it, why not ship it off? We already know, and have discussed plenty, that they botched this signing period, this is just rehashing that.
  24. My understanding is that this was money that wasn't spent for this past J2, so what in world is the appeal for the Rangers acquiring this money?
  25. Has to be giving up less in IFA money than his buyout would be,right? I suppose that makes some sense.
