Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
It would be pretty typical to see Moncada moved to second and coincidentally see a drop in offensive production and everyone attributes it to the position change forever.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
It's not even worth discussing until someone else reports ties.

Rick Hahn's Resume as GM
I don't think there's anything wrong with the statement, but I'd prefer Kenny play things a little closer to the chest. Hahn probably doesn't love this comment.

A Realistic Offseason
Under no circumstances should Jim Bowden be taken seriously

Rick Hahn's Resume as GM
Hahn has the best job in sports, well maybe second best.

A Realistic Offseason
Something to consider for an outfielder.

Rick Hahn's Resume as GM
Idk why we have to do this is every 3 months. He had a a terrible first 4 seasons, and the jury is still out on the last 3. What else is there to discuss?

A Realistic Offseason
This made me triple take. The White Sox apparently had more *qualified* pitchers in the top 16 in the AL in fWAR than anyone...

Projecting the 2020 White Sox based on FA outcomes
This is what I have been saying to every person immediately saying 'Typical White Sox' to every second tier move. The Sox are already much deeper now than they were when they were signing Melky Cabrera, they could get away with it now. They won 72 games playing people who have no business being professional baseball players at 4 positions. Even just average players there should give you a bump to the 80-85 range and you just hope for continued improvement from young players from there. Aim high, but don't do nothing.

Castellanos
Would be a reason for Adam Engel to exist on this roster that's for sure.
-
Castellanos
Who in the world ever hinted Castellanos would even get a 100 million deal let alone 200?
-
Castellanos
Idk why but any time a report includes some sort of anecdote about the team like 'They saw plenty of him over six years inside the AL Central and have always been a fan' my bullshit meter immediately goes off.

Edwin Encarnacion - DH
Not every position can or needs to be filled with an uber expensive FA. Encarnacion stands to be a 4 win improvement at the position over last year, and will allow flexibility for better FAs.
-
Edwin Encarnacion - DH
A. Will likely greatly improve lineup B. Will not take much financial commitment It's not sexy, and people will b****, but I think he makes the most sense at DH at this point.
-
Edwin Encarnacion - DH
Soooooooooooo, just keep doing it then? And you know you can sign both impact players and filler players at the same time right?
-
Edwin Encarnacion - DH
Is there any indication the Sox have any interest in Grandal? I have a feeling they're content with McCann.

A Realistic Offseason
I absolutely do not think they'll sign Rendon or Cole, but it has nothing to do with reputation or market size or whatever else.
-
A Realistic Offseason
The point being made is that everybody has to offer the most money
-
A Realistic Offseason
What we’ve seen though is players sit and wait until some team set their offer apart. There are exceptions like Piscotty feeling the need to be in Oakland, but not many
-
A Realistic Offseason
Two of those guys you listed aren't getting anything more than a year.
-
A Realistic Offseason
An outside shot at a wild card game, and still the flexibility to get better in FA? Y'know what definitely does nothing for this team? Playing Charlie Tilson's and Ryan Cordell's
-
A Realistic Offseason
Roughly 3-4 wins better at each position you just listed. Those are places the Sox could greatly improve just by filling each of those positions where everyone's only qualification is 'Belongs in the MLB'. Aim Higher, but don't do nothing.

A Realistic Offseason
Brewers, Braves

A Realistic Offseason
I would just like to reiterate that MLB endorsements amount to jack squat. Any difference in endorsements can be made up easily. Like a couple hundred thousand dollars a year easily.
-
A Realistic Offseason
They shouldn't be celebrated for it, but they're 100% in a better position without him.
