But Madrigal has also been rated higher than any of those guys in early prospect rankings, no?
  2. Agreed, but Basabe and Gonzalez seem to be figuring it out a little. Basabe's numbers were always going to look iffy after he broke his hand.
  3. The way this thing went down was embarrassing on every level, but if he would have signed with the yankees in like December, nobody would care nearly as much as they do. I wanted him, and I wanted him bad, but we have to acknowledge the fact signing either guy had just as good a chance at scuttling the whole rebuild as it did getting it off the ground.
  4. It normally happens that it's apparent the Sox have Their Guy for a while, and then a week or so before the draft it comes out that maybe that guy isn't Their Guy. Happened with Madrigal at least. It feels like Abrams is the guy and anyone else is screen.
  5. I don't necessarily believe they will, but there is a world of difference between spending 300 million on one guy and 300 million spread out on 3 guys.
  6. 'He doesn't possess much swing and miss in his game and projects as a "plus hitter". ' People really need to stop lumping this kid as a 'toolsy athlete'.
  7. I'm not sure a top 100 player was in the cards when he was more than just a two month rental
  8. I don't think that many people realize that the clock is already ticking and has been for about a year.
  9. The patches are a hell of a lot nicer than camo
  10. 2022 lmao. Congrats you’ve got yourself a job for life. Just keeping pushing back.
  11. Trevor May has an unfortunate face
  12. Why do they feel the need to waste 40% of the screen whenever they go PIP
  13. He normally looks fine for 3-4 innings. The refusal to not go with an opener for him really frustrating.
  14. Really nice they’re not going with gaudy cash grab camo for MDW
  15. Would appear to be something more
  16. I can’t decide if this is the sox acknowledging he’s the better catcher or the one who’s less of a prospect
  17. Also 119 years is a really damn long time.
  18. The stories that keep coming out about 2016 make Ventura worse by miles. Renteria is horrible tactically but he does seem to get a lot out his guys. The answer is bevington anyway
  19. They feel better because they are better. The chicken little fatalism after every single loss is really damn grating.
  20. He’s still striking out/walking guys at the same clip, he’s just getting dinged up. It’s probably a mental thing
  21. Why did Anderson leave
  22. It’s always the same like 4 people that ignore any good games
  23. They beat the Astros 9-4 two days ago man. Are they 5-6 years away from being competitive. Shit happens
  24. That game at home a week or so ago against the Indians would have been a 5 homer game if it wasn’t so damn cold. He’s looked so bad despite the results
