4/4- Sox at Cubs, 3:05, Marquee
Indians damn near won a World Series with like 2 good hitters and a sick pitching staff

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
Pretty much, you're gonna see a lot of Adam Engel in the 8th and 9th
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
He has a better arm than Vaughn and Sheets surely. Having a cannon in right is much more a "nice to have" than the "must have" people tend to make it seem.
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
Remember when this name got brought up every week as a guy the sox need to sign?

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
All I'm getting at is that the only information I know from "5 time gold glover in Japan" is that he was the best RF in Japan for a number of years. I have zero clue how good the second best RF in Japan is.

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
Dayan Viciedo had an OPS over 900 in Japan in 2018. We can throw out all the numbers we want, they don't mean anything.
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
I'm not sure any of us knows what "Gold Glove Defense" in Japan translates to in MLB terms. Kinda like how Gold Glove college second basemen translated to pretty bad second basement actually.

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
makes me sad it didn't work out, seems like a great dude
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
Suzuki will have to be 90% as good in MLB as he was in Japan to match Pollock's 2021. I don't like those odds. Suzuki is just sexy because we haven't seen him.
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
We have no idea what Sox scouts feel about Suzuki
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
And looks like a real juicy non-tender at the moment
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
Let's also not act like Conforto is without his warts
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
Isn't Bellinger getting paid more, and very possibly, much, much worse?
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
As could Engel, Garcia, and either of your first basement playing the outfield in a pinch
-
Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
Pollocks health is certainly a concern, but the thing is, the Sox do have a lot of RF depth, they were just lacking a starter.

Weeknight start times to be 6:10 pm !… what genius came up with this one??
They've been doing it this way since like at least 2016

Weeknight start times to be 6:10 pm !… what genius came up with this one??
You didn't, this isn't new.

Weeknight start times to be 6:10 pm !… what genius came up with this one??
They have been playing 6:10 games in April for years at this point. It's cold in april man.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
No I agree, it’s just the worst possible way for a manager to express a totally understandable position
-
Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I mean this is said with standard La Russa tact so it’s not good, but he’s not gonna say we don’t have the answer in-house two weeks before a season.

Arb cases happening today
Paying 50 mil for a bullpen and haggling you’re best starter over a rounding error is certainly a choice
-
Arb cases happening today
Friendly reminder that the arb numbers the submit are almost always closer to what the other party was asking for than what they we’re trying settle for. edit: it appears I was wrong on this one

Kris Bryant to the Rockies - 7/$182
"prospects" Also, Arenado was already 2 years deep on that wasn't he? This is a pretty disingenuous way to frame the math.
-
Kris Bryant to the Rockies - 7/$182
My question is why did they trade Arenado if they were just going to turn around and give it all to Bryant????

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
