QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 09:19 PM) Saw Vonleh projected as a top ten pick. Good. Get him out of here. Yes, he's climbing very quickly. His upside through the roof. Showed up to IU at 6'8", and now looks to be a legit 6"10". That's whats really making the difference, along with his motor. Not to metion it looks like he put on about 30 lbs of muscle in a matter of months. If he stick around, Indiana's a title contender. Unfortunately for IU, I don't think he does. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 10:38 AM) True to form. I can't believe you're 30. LOL... I dish it an take it as much as anyone... but this is nothing. Sack up and bring the rivalry smack talk. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 12:46 AM) Wow. Didn't expect that type of response. I shot the deer legally and humanely. I searched for blood for over 20 minutes after I shot it but I lost sight of her very quickly after the shot and didn't see that she circled back. I was hunting in the UP of Michigan, where it was well below freezing. There was not a chance in hell the deer was going to rot. We eat every bit of venison from the deer that we harvest. This wasn't shooting an animal just to shoot an animal. And much like wite said, the deer herd needs to be managed in the UP, where they can very quickly get overpopulated. There are wolves, coyotes, black bears and cougars in those woods and in the 20+ years we have hunted on that land, NOT ONCE has a deer ever been touched. Waiting until the morning to search for a deer is extremely common. I don't blame anyone for "not getting" hunting. That's fine. But if you're going to rip someone for it, I hope none of you have ever gone fishing or eaten fast food. Makes more sense now that you've explained it. I thought that you lived way up north, so I figured rotting wouldn't be a problem. Shotgun season is now over here in Indiana. Got a buck 30 minutes into opening day, then the last day I see two monster bucks that I'm not allowed to legally shoot.... That's always how it goes.

I hunt and yes I eat the deer meat... I understand it was getting dark, but at least go look for the thing for a while. You're supposed to check those things in ASAP.

Terrible, terrible 2nd half for Indiana last night. Crean was not the problem, it was sloppy play by freshman/Sheehey (outside of Vonleh). 'Cuse was just baiting everyone to shoot jumpers, and it worked. That said, 'Cuse is a dang good team. Have not seen Crean so irate during a press conference. Hopefully the team responds. By the end of the year, the defense could be suffocating. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 09:25 PM) Vonleh looks great. But I still didn't see athleticism. They were more athletic the last two years. LOL what???? No chance. -

Great win for the Illini! Indiana also with another good win against a scorching Evansville team. When I watch UNLV play, I wonder WTF Goodluck Okonoboh and Dwayne Morgan are thinking turning down IU/OSU/ other big programs to go play for Dave Rice... -

Troy Williams looked like a lottery pick last night. Hope Indiana continues the recent solid play tonight against a very good UCONN team. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 08:19 PM) Ohio state is going to get blown out a few times this year. Simply a terrible shooting team. Same with Indiana. If Russell and Blackmon would graduate at semesters end and join each team, I think they'd both get major minutes immediately and put up some solid numbers right away. -

Lol at ILL fans saying KU "upped" their offer. Well as bossi and Meyer said earlier today, you're basically admitting your staff was willing to pay him too. Terrible day for Illinois. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 14, 2013 -> 10:38 AM) My understanding is it will only be one player at most since one of the transfers was informed (has to be Starks or Paul) that he might need to pay his own way for a year if something like this happened. Starks makes the most sense since everyone was clearly hoping he would get a waiver to be eligible this year. No that doesn't count, because Hulls family offered to do that too and everyone cried foul... Remember? -

It's got to be Illinois. All this recent DePaul talk is just that, talk. No one wants their announcement leaked beforehand, so why not put out some rumors. After it happens... Then I can sit back and watch Illini fans validate how "Creaning" two players is different at Illinois than at IU, right? -

YUCK Indiana. Indiana's going to have some games like that early on, as their shooting just isn't there and the inexperience still shines through. IU could really, really use Blackmon and Johnson right now. The freshman class is just so stacked... Any other year Noah Vonleh is a lottery pick, but Indiana may just luck out with so many studs out there. Would be awesome if he stayed two years. -

Solid article and synopsis by the guy. One thing about "locking down Chicago"... I'd say that's not happening. If it did, Illinois would surely be on probation within a few years of it. Just too many people with their hands out in that area. Pretty clear that's the dirtiest area for recruiting in the states, along with NYC. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2013 -> 10:27 AM) Wow, Lyle has really turned himself completely around in these few months..... Never did I say he did, but I do know Cliff Alexanders "hanger ons" are no longer involved with JaQuan, which is a big start. I'm still very hesitant about taking Lyle, but you can't deny the talent that is there. Would I prefer Crean stand pat now and hold out for a big in the spring? You bet... But God knows he's not (nor any coach), going to turn down a top ten talent if they want to come. Still don't think he can qualify. -

QUOTE (farmteam @ Oct 31, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) Wow, didn't expect Blackmon to come back to IU. That's great, he's supposed to be a phenomenal shooter. Huge get for Crean and Indiana. Brian Snow and Scout basically guaranteeing JaQuan Lyle commits to Indiana if he makes it this weekend after his SAT. -

QUOTE (farmteam @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 10:46 PM) Damn, I really wanted Robinson. I think he's going to be a stud. 2014 not looking so hot; I'm not sure what to expect with Johnson. I'm really hoping for Malachi Richardson in the 2015 class. Wanted Robinson too. Sounds like playing time was a big issue for him. Florida loses most of their 3/4 wings, and Indiana is stacked at that position. Just goes back to Indiana getting in pretty late with him. For two plus years Indiana had Lyles/Blackmon in the fold and Crean concentrated on 2015/2016 because a lot of scholarships come off the books in those years. I see the '15 class as Malachi Richardson, Bryant Crawford, and a big or two. '16 will be when Crean hits the state hard again, as there's nothing instate in '15. Honestly think one of Indiana's next commits will be TJ Leaf, a 2016 forward from Cali. About as big of a lock as you can get it sounds like. But we shall see... -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 09:04 AM) Jerry Meyer switched his prediction of Jaquan Lyle to IU last night. Would he qualify? Doesn't seem likely, but stranger things have happened. There's never been a question about his talent, as he was the best in Indiana in the 2014 class. He's now at prep school and Rabjohns and Peegs have said the bad influences are out of his life and things are looking way up for him. Still plenty of work to do in the classroom, but we'll see. I could see IU taking him and putting him on a faculty scholarship in the summer to see if he can qualify, much like they did with Ron Patterson before he got busted. I know his grandmother has always wanted him at IU. Just such a weird recruiting year for Indiana. I'm ready for 2015 and 2016 after the whole Lyles/Blackmon fiasco. There's a boatload of talent in state in 2016. Can definitely see Illinois picking up a few. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 11:07 PM) So Alexander a lock to Kansas because of Jerrance Howard and his girlfriend playing for Kansas women's team? Will he be academically eligible? Anybody know? Where will the Okafor/Jones package wind up? It seems to me if they really are going to go to school together, the only possiblilities are Duke and/or Kansas. Kentucky has a top PG coming in, meaning no way Tyus Jones goes there. Baylor is Baylor. They don't win these type of package recruiting battles for kids outside of the state of Texas. I don't see why Okafor would want to go to Duke, being a Chicago kid. I could see why Jones would want to run the show at Duke. That leaves Kansas. Okafor would be the latest big man to rule at Kansas and Jones would also start from Day One. Since Self is kind of a likeable guy to recruits, and Howard is Mr. Illinois, does Kansas win this package by default? Or do these 2 kids eventually decide against the package deal, like so many recruits do? Package deals rarely come to fruition. There's been some rumblings from UK insiders that Kansas, with the addition of Jerrance Howard, has become pretty dirty. All rumors at this point, but Self/Howard have really, really picked it up to a UK level of recruiting of late. The number they keep throwing out is 800K to Wiggins' family and their claiming the NCAA is already looking into it. -

No ones denying Wisconsin owns IU under Bo. I wasn't trying trying to "troll" you. Most of the conference perceive purdue and Wisconsin under the same light. I understand no wisconsin fan wants to see that, but that perception is definitely out there. Scan opposing teams' forums if you don't believe it. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 01:03 PM) Wisconsin doesnt play this type of defense, so not sure why it would impact them. If you are going to complain about Badger style at least appropriately argue that they foul with their lower body and get away with a lot of non-hand contact. This will tremendously help Wisconsin actually. They usually struggle against teams that are really handsy on guards. Maybe with some better scouting Indiana can actually beat Wisconsin this year? I knew you'd come in, guns blazing. We'll see, the rest of the conference has a different view of Wisconsin and Purdue's defense. -

QUOTE (farmteam @ Oct 6, 2013 -> 11:37 PM) It was 21-17 early in the 4th quarter. Roberson ran one in to make it 28-17. Defense made a stop, then Kofi Hughes made a fantastic sliding catch for a touchdown. On the ensuing kickoff, Penn State fumbled and IU recovered, and Tre Roberson ran it in 10 yards on the first play to make it 42-17 with 10:32 left. Everyone was just kinda stunned. Indiana's offense is pretty dang good, once again. Sudfeld will be playing on Sundays IMO. The defense played better than I have ever seen. Hard to believe they lose I think 2 starters to graduation. Make a bowl this year, and Indiana should be a top 25 level team next year. I can't believe I just typed that. Also heard Lou Holtz say Indiana will be Ohio States toughest matchup this year. LOL hard to believe, but I guess it was one heck of a game last season.
