  1. I did the same early last week with the two talking to another OSU fan. I don't know much about Elbert, although I've heard he's huge. Would have liked to pick up Okonoboh, but it seems he and Perea would be pretty redundant.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 08:00 AM) We are also on the Robinson train granted Turner is going to Kansas like many haves said. Different Robinson. We're in on Devin, and I believe you guys are in on Elbert.
  3. Kid didn't even know the name of the university (University of Las Vegas) and couldn't come up with an answer when asked why he picked UNLV. Could have just been the cameras in his face making him nervous. Luckily for him, he won't have to worry about being on TV at UNLV. On to the next one. Hoosier Hysteria tonight, with Devin Robinson and Malachi Richardson (2nd visit in 3 weeks) in town.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) Wouldnt bet against Izzo. Oh he's a great coach... But he's going to be void the talent he's normally always had. He's been unable to keep the talent that normally stays home, home. The best get he's gotten in 2 years was Tum Tum last week... He lucked out there with Robert Johnson committing to IU the Friday before, essentially eliminating IU from contention.
  5. I think Michigan State is going to fall from that pretty quick after this year. Their recruiting of late has been awful per their standards.
  6. Lyle isn't going anywhere but Memphis or DePaul with his 1.1 GPA.
  7. QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 09:38 AM) Very happy with this. If we can get Goodluck, that would be a fine class just as the two of them. But my dream class is Johnson + Goodluck + Devin Robinson. Well, it seems your dream class is very likely to happen. Robinson lives in the same neighborhood as Johnson and they've talked plenty about a "package deal". He's visiting for Hoosier Hysteria next weekend and Johnson will be coming with him. Still seems Indiana is the team to beat for Goodluck, with UNLV and OSU knocking on the door. Should be another top ten class for Indiana.
  8. Well according to every recruiting analyst in the country, Whiteheads recruitment just got extremely shady. Tiny Morton looks to have finally found a college job. Good work Seton Hall.
  9. Lyle and Alexander will be going to Kansas. Matter of time at this point...
  10. Just by reading his dads comments, I don't think he will stray to far from home. UCLA is a heck of a long ways away.
  11. Goodluck moving up his Indiana visit to this next weekend. Looks like Illini are going to land Snider. Great class for Groce.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 01:24 PM) If we pull Turner it will be one of the best classes he's ever had. And 2015 is shaping up already. If IU has room, I'm pretty sure talent will go there unless you guys sink into the abyss again. I hope you do land Turner, as I think you're the main competition for Goodluck. Stars don't always matter, but if you're pulling in top 50 guys and have a coach that can develop... You're team is putting itself if prime condition to succeed. After the top 50, things get pretty dicey.
  13. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 01:08 PM) I'm sorry, how many recruits do you guys have for 2014? Um... You do realize the FIRST signing period isn't until November right? We're taking 2-3 guys this year, after reeling in a top 10 class in 2012, and a top 5 class last year. Oh, and in 2011, we pulled in Cody Zeller. That's a 5 star in 3 straight classes... I guess 2010 wasn't so bad either, as we pulled in Oladipo. Indiana's now to the point where they can wait to see who develops through their HS career, then take a commit. But back to how we still have 2 months until the FIRST signing day. IU is bringing in Okonoboh, Robinson, and Whitehead for Hoosier Hysteria (all 5 stars). I'd be willing to bet Indiana pulls in the #1 or #2 class in the Bigten again (Likely behind OSU this year, as Matta is killin' it.) I doubt IU whiffs in 2014.
  14. QUOTE (Boogua @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 11:53 AM) With the transfers that Groce has brought in, along with the 2013 recruiting class, the 2014-2015 team would absolutely be on par with the top teams of the conference. You're talking about a potential lineup of SR Abrams, redshirt JR Cosby, redshirt SR Rice, FR Cliff Alexander, and SR Egwu. With a bench of two top 40 players and a few top 75 players that would be sophomores among others. That team would be absolutely stacked. I'm not saying that the illini are going to get both snider and cliff, but let's not downplay the impact they would make on that team. That illini team should be close to on par with the top teams WITHOUT snider and cliff that year. They'll be up there, but still a little ways off from OSU/IU recruiting-wise. I think they could certainly join that upper tier if he sustains it through 2015-16. Wisconsin will always be up there because of the system/coaching. MSU's recruiting has started to decline. UM is the wildcard.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 11:02 AM) Every program does it, which is why Creaning was such a dumb criticism. Groce has done it by showing a bunch of players on the team the door in favor of transfers. LOL at the shift in thought now that Groce is doing it.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 10:51 AM) Of his final four, shouldnt Indiana be the only real threat? I was surprised IU was even on his final list, as I don't even think he's even that high on the priority list. Seems like Crean wants Devin Robinson and Goodluck more judging by who he watched this summer. The other scholarship will likely be filled by Rob Johnson.
  17. There were major rumors of him decommitting last year when Lyles did, but he had just torn his ACL. So a year later, he blows up again and dominates this AAU season... What is Indiana's reward for sticking by him and referring their team doctor? A big FU. Now what? Lyles and Blackmon to UK, book it. Good work Cal.
  18. Meyer and Rabjohns have both made posts on separate boards expecting Black to pick Illini. Said Black has been telling those close to him he wants to play right away and not have to compete for PT. His commit would be huge for Groce.
  19. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 03:02 PM) Those making fun of the "not wanting JaQuan Lyle on their team" crew.... He bailed on his AAU team this week who were ranked as the top seed in the Peach Jam (can't wait to hear the full story on this when it comes out...). Tried to Join another team in the Peach Jam, but was ruled ineligble for this weekend... He's in Indy playing for an AAU team out of Lousville (imagine that) this weekend... Next weekend he's playing for the Mac Irvin Fire. I would guess he's a likely transfer candidate his first year. What, no Illini fan comments? He's also now heading east to prep school... Hearing it would be a HUGE turnaround if he qualified to play next year at UL. Also, Quintin Snider who was previously committed to UL and a borderline 5 star, decommitted an hour ago. Expect OSU and IU to be serious options.

  21. About time this is over with. Glad IU doesn't have to deal with the headache. Lock up Exum and Okonoboh now.
  22. Still think Lyle ends up at Louisville. Really want Exum and that looks really good right now for Indiana. IU jumped into Leron Blacks recruitment with two feet and he's already planning a visit. The religion factor is huge here and he loves Crean already. Blackmon, Exum, Okonoboh, and Black looks like a real, real possibility.
  23. I'm sure it's Louisville. Seems Indiana is getting Exum if he elects to play college ball.
  24. Taking my brother and a couple of friends to Chicago for his 21st. Dates are July 8-9 (I know, monday/tuesday sucks but we both do too much coaching on the weekends during the summer to get away). Staying downtown at the Hyatt on Wacker. Good spots for college aged/cheap booze downtown and surrounding areas? I'm sure we can take the L about anywhere. Thanks for any help.
  25. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 07:19 PM) I'm just scared he'll head somewhere else, but at least he is an Indiana native. And I'll be interested to see if Ty Neal leaving affects the decision process for Halstead and Slegers. But who cares about all that right now, OMAHA!! This is unreal. Just don't see it happening. He's had so many opportunities to leave (only job he even thought about was OSU). He's responsible for the new stadium and the improved play. Indiana is recruiting at a very high level right now. Couple the new stadium with the CWS trip, don't see any way he leaves. Got a chance to speak with him before the season. He just kept saying over and over again that at IU, all sports are 1 team. Pretty incredible what he has done with the previously cellar-dwelling team.
