QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) That call against Dye was a joke. it was 6 inches outside and at his ankles. Bet it crossed at the knees from the side angle dugout camera :banghead Does Contreras really look as composed and dominating as it seems he is??? I mean im amazed at the rate this game is flying by! -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) Well, I think we're a little better than this. I'm sure we'll start hitting soon, but I'm feeling sorry for Contreras because he has glided through 3 innings and it looks like he might get a ND again. Do you have access to a jump to conclusions mat or something? -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but Contreras has 25 pitches through 2 innings. He's on pace to almost go the distance. By that logic, Greinke is on pace to go 17 innings... -

Way to make him work.....six freaking pitches -
Shouldn't Crede be moved up in the order already?
Chisoxrd5 replied to Hideaway Lights's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think you kind of answered your own question. Until Crede can prove that he can sustain a solid average all season there is no reason to move him up in the lineup. I like where he is, gives us some pop at the bottom and takes the pressure off of him. Let him thrive down there and hopefully he will continue to produce. Konerko is a streaky hitter and Dye looks to be showing signs of coming out of his slump. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2005 -> 08:49 AM) I had to ask the question, because I always laugh at all the people getting drunk at Hacienda on the 5th of May, pounding Margaritas and Coronas, yet they have no idea why. I find it pretty entertaining. Not as bad as one of my co-workers yesterday who asked me and I quote, "Did we miss the 'cincademayo" holiday this year?" I was stunned till I remembered that my accounting firm has about as much ethnic diversity as a KKK rally...

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 5, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) bonus question.........and why do we celebrate it in America? Uhh...because we dont like the French??? Edit: Also because it is a reason to drink Mexican beer? Reason Two > Reason One

QUOTE(chisox2334 @ May 4, 2005 -> 06:47 AM) I don't even want to hear the excuses here of why us fans are not going to games. I been 5 games already this season and went to about 50 in 2000. You wanna know people's perspective from 2000 till now is nothing has changed at all. I even remember reading an article in espn magazine telling us fans go cheer them on and yeah guess what the same type of crowd attendance at last night's game was the same througout the 2000 season. I don't care if you don't like Kruk or not but time realize that fans never go to our stadium and fill it up. I been very disappointed with fan attendance for along time and ever since the strike our fans have left and never came back. We need realize that this team is playing good baseball and making history as well. Go out and support them for the credit they deserve on the field. Also, april mid 70's weather which yeah was great out I still saw 12,000 going to game and no their was no excuse there. Go out and support because I know I am going too and giving them all the credit they deserve. I really dont understand why these soapbox attendance posts keep showing up on sox SUPER FAN message board...Im pretty sure the majority of the regulars on this site attend as many games as they can possible schedule and afford. Your preaching to the choir. For example, last night i 'bought' two tix from quickman (thanx for the that dawg) gave them away to my sister and brother-in-law (who would never attend a game usually) and then drove up w/ three friends and bought four more tix...so I cant do anymore than that...these posts over this MEDIA make no sense.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 4, 2005 -> 07:05 AM) We had to go up to the club... our lips were purple!! Your such a wuss!! It was a beautiful night for a game!! Iguchi's hitting kept me warm...and my hat, gloves, coat, sweatshirt, hood, double socks, but that is besides the point Ok...it was cold

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 3, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) Not exactly. We're the first team to have a lead in the FIRST 26 games of the season. Some team could have had a longer streak at some point. They could have just done it in the middle of the season. Details... Yea so im a jackass, it comes with the territory :banghead
-
QUOTE(rangercal @ May 3, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) we had the lead in 26 straight games to start the season. Major league record. I know only W's count but this record is pretty friggin amazing. The fact that we are the ONLY team in the HISTORY of MLB to have a lead in 26 straight games is one to definitely look back on! In order to accomplish this feat: 1. Cannot get shutout 2. Must have solid starting pitching 3. Must get on the board early the majority of the time And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Congrats 2005 CWS!!

Uhh...I didnt think it was really THAT cold out there tonight, and yes I was disapointed with the attendence but who could expect anything different? This topic is REALLY getting old fast

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 3, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) A 100-pound female college student ate one in less than 3 hours? She aspired to pick up that freshman 15 in one sitting... Oh and the picture of that burger...is :puke and i love beef!!!

QUOTE(Reddy @ May 3, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) beyond idiotic... it makes sense to call up a jamie burke when its only short term, because you dont wanna waste that call up on a potential star when he'll be sent down a DAY OR TWO later C'mon guys...it is dumb but lay off the poor guy...I think wea all agree bringing up BMAC makes no sense. Enough already!! :banghead
