Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
He's a solid fielder and mashes RHP. LHP, not so much.

Lindor may get traded
Sounds like Lindor might actually get traded.

A Realistic Offseason
He still counts against the tax though and they aren't that far off from it.

His home away splits are really bad.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
It's a fair point if he actually does want to get it done before the meetings. It would force some of these teams to choose a path. It could just be his agent floating that to drive up more interest though. Hopefully he just wants to get it done.

Cole or Strasburg?
And Collins. Castillo was the starting catcher the last game of the season iirc.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Yeah. But there are a number of teams meeting with the top 2. If they would give Cole 280 million they surely would give Wheeler 100.

I haven't seen the Angels mentioned a lot with Wheeler but you have to figure they are in play as well.

Cole or Strasburg?
Danny Mendick as I'm sure there will be a combination of Leury/Engle in CF before Robert.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Outside of the Twins and Texas we make the most sense if I gambled. And the Twins still haven't made a formal offer. Also if Texas is trying to land Donaldson/Rendon I could see them looking at a cheaper option.

McCann inks 1 year, 5.4M deal with Sox
I would rather sell high on McCann than trade Collins. There are still teams trying to compete that need adequate catching.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
I don't see the Reds going that high. Their staff is already pretty good and they need SS and an OF still.

MadBum gave up 30 HRs last year and his home field is gigantic. Let's overlay his spray chart at Oracle to a hitters park like CBP. Oh, that's about 15+ more HR due to park factor. I don't care how much spin rate he added, he would get destroyed in the AL.

Cole Hamels to the Braves, 1 year $18 Million.
It's for clicks. They would not be announcing any signing on Chuck Garfiens podcast lol.

Offseason 2019-2020 MLB Catch All Thread
I would always draft Teheran and Walker in the later rounds of my MLB The Show fantasy draft and flip them in Spring training for like prime Tulo or Cano since they were both A prospects.

Mous to the Reds, 4yr Deal
I don't know what they are going to do, but they were a WC team last year and are losing a dozen + players if not more and cry about payroll and have no farm. I believe they are around 60 million now after this batch of non-tenders and played at 130 ML last year. They are going to have to hit on a bunch of guys that were non-tendered or buy low on several players. They need C, 1B, all of the pitching, 3B, and several depth pieces. And that division sucks, idk what else you want me to say about it. It's not good.

They met with Donaldson and are meeting with Rendon as well.

Cole Hamels to the Braves, 1 year $18 Million.
This would HAVE to be the 2nd pitcher we get (if). The FO sucks but they aren't oblivious.

Mous to the Reds, 4yr Deal
Brewers are shot. Hopefully the Reds step up to apply tourniquet like pressure on the Cubs. That division sucks.

Sox Non-Tender Yolmer, Frare, Burr, Release Veiera
Yeah, I get that. He was also ~7 WAR the 2 years prior and he plays 3 positions. They also lost Moose and Grandal. For a team that's broke they sure have a ton of holes to fill. What was his arb number? Edit: Found it, he was going to get around 4.7 in arb. And he had a wrist injury this year that he missed a chunk of time with.

Did the Brewers just quit baseball? What the fuck are they doing?

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
I would say they would be in the conversation. The Twins completely over played their projections and lost 3 starting pitchers. The Tribe have a fantastic staff but their lineup is not great. I shill for Castellanos so what you just posted would be ideal for me.

The only way I'd want Hamels is on a 1 year in addition to Wheeler and if his salary won't be a hinderance to getting a RF. To me going after Hamels who will cost twice as much as a Nova or Teheran type as our "6th" starter signals they want to compete in 2020.
