I think Reinsdorf will relinquish control after the '26 season. I would be surprised if he has another labor fight in him and this one coming up might be the nastiest one ever. The '27 season is very likely not to happen.

It's the start of the scenario I was told was most likely to happen. Jerry forces the minority owners to sell to a single individual, that person helps Jerry pay for a new stadium and in return he gets control of the everyday baseball operations when Jerry passes. Jerry's shares goes to his son John. Obviously there's a million moving parts here and it's way more complicated but it's good to see things are finally moving.

I learned a valuable lesson of putting too much weight on the summer and fall circuit with Jack Suwinski. Jack got his s%*# pushed in on the circuit and I was out. He worked his ass off during the off season and changed his body and swing. He came out in the spring and destroyed everyone who dared to pitch to him and I chalked it up as just facing awful pitching in the Chicago public league. The Jack Hammmer made it to the big leagues as a 23 yr old. Lesson learned.

It's super early but it's exciting to see some up the middle college guys starting to emerge as potentials for 1-10. Curley, Houston, Cannarella, Austin maybe Aloy. Them along with the HS SS's (Carlson, Ebel, Willits, Cunningham) they should be able to fill a serious org need (SS, CF) without having to reach which is the exact situation you hope for.

I like my Sosa for Canario deal. I'd have think Sosa is an upgrade over Vidal Brujan or Gage Workman.

I'm working off premise that Robert will be traded before OD.

I don;t think they'll take a catcher at 1-10 but damn I like this dude. I mean how many green jerseys with the name Irish on them would they sell.

From what I was told he has to fix himself. He got a little thick and lost the feel for his secondaries. The Rangers taught him a cutter and he threw it way too much because it was the only pitch he had. If he can get himself back into shape and find the feel for his breaking stuff he could be something. He's only 25 yrs old.

He obviously has to continue to do it against better pitching but it's an exciting start to the spring for Houston who is a lock to stay at SS.

Very happy to see Vargas put in the work in the weight room this off season. Now I want to see what adjustments he made to his swing. Also expecting him to be in a much better head space this season.
