Everyone has to stop this. Crochet pitching out of the bullpen could lead to serious injury. It already did. It's going to be a long road and there will be bumps along the way but it is abundantly clear making him a starter is the correct path to maximize his immense talent.
There are guys who really like him and think he's just scratching the surface of how good he can be. He can hit and hit for power and has a very good chance to stay at 3B.
It seems there could be a blob of guys they have evaluated the same and then they take the cheapest guy. That may be what this comes down to.
I'm in on Cags, Smith, and Monty. Burns is throwing the crap out of it but I'm still gonna wait to see how he holds up at the end of the spring before I say I'm in.
Not the way he looked yesterday. It was his first outing (27 pitches). He was 94-97 w/a much improved breaking ball. He also cleaned up his body. If this is what he is the rest of the spring I dont see him being there at pick 43.
