I like that dude. He does a lot of good things on the baseball field and as they say, that's how they look. Power, speed, defense, arm. He can affect the game in different ways which is what you want from a top pick. He has swing and miss but hopefully an approach adjustment can help that.

Maxxxxxxx effort delivery. Huge reliever risk for me. I have no idea how he is going to be able to throw 100 pitches over 6-7 innings every 5 days for 30+ starts a year. We'll see how he looks as the season progresses. Maybe he's a freak.

Montgomery has one of the higher ceilings of the college position players. He has a great body and above avg athleticism. A switch hitter with plus power from both sides of the plate. I wish he could play CF but he's a lock to stay in RF thanks to his 7 arm and you could probably argue it's an 8. He also pitches but his future is as a bat.

I get the risk but I'm all in on Brecht. He's amazing. He literally checks every box except one to be an ace in this game and yes it's a very important box he doesn't check but I think with more reps and coaching he will be able to throw consistent strikes. It's so early in his baseball life and he does things you don't see other guys do...ever. The frame, the athleticism, the low effort delivery, the clean arm action, the life on the fastball, the unhittable slider. He easily has the highest ceiling of any player in this draft. It's all there.

He's a central Illinois kid. One of the best HS arms I ever saw. He didn't pitch much in HS because of a back injury but when he did he was dominating. He's battled injuries his first two years at Alabama too. I hope he has a run of health because he has a chance to be special.

He does it very smooth and easy. The ball comes out of his hand nice. If he's able to stay healthy he'll battle with Hartle and Hagen to be the first college lefty off the board.

It's Feb 7th for god's sake. The absolute worst thing if Cease doesn't get traded will be everyone falling over themselves to be the first to diagnose an injury. This is another guy who can make a big jump this spring. He has a great body w/plus athleticism and he can really move. He has good bat speed and I absolutely love his swing. He still has to show he can consistently drive the baseball and that he can stay on the dirt. If he does that he's easily in the first round conversation.

I agree. I don't think they're nearly as worried about this as others. If it were someone like Giolito or Kopech I'm sure they would be a little more panicked but Cease is a different cat. They know what a hard worker he is and how disciplined he is in his preperation. They know no matter what happens he's going to be mentally and physically ready for the season and will perform at a high level the same as he always has.

Come draft time I think that list will be flipped on it's ear. So many of those players have question marks in their game I think guys are going to pop up and drop out much more than usual. Did you see your guy Konnor Griffin was 94-97 in an intrasquad? Is he a bat or an arm?
