Yep. While Steve Stone apparently has a massive ego, that 2003/2004 Cubs team had one collective fragile ego.

It’s very strange. Stone definitely seems to have an attitude problem. He literally gets angry at people who tweet him about players (i.e. Puig, Arenado) that he has stated the Sox aren’t interested in. But even Hahn said that the Sox were still open to bringing Yolmer back as recently as this past weekend at SoxFest.

I saw that tweet by Stone and was a bit surprised he crapped all over Yolmer.

Steve Stone is having fans post their opening day lineups and has responded to three fans with: “Madrigal will not open in Chicago” “No Madrigal” “Lopez will be 5 with Kopech starting in AAA” Sounds like he knows for sure.

Well, I can’t say much for David Ross but the guy that replaced Renteria has a 2016 World Series ring. I think Theo hired Ross to be his puppet manager.

If Renteria was thought so highly of, why were the Cubs so quick to dump him and why was there no interest in hiring him outside of a team that is notorious for not wanting to spend much on managers and was intentionally tanking for the sake of a rebuild?

Yolmer signing elsewhere is a good thing. It opens up the opportunity for them to bring in someone better. Brock Holt, Scooter Gennett, etc.

I’d prefer they spend a few million on someone good.

Nice savings of around $6 million. I will guess he makes the Giants but it’s obvious he wasn’t that highly desired.

I think that’s probably it. Most teams want him as a utility man. He would likely start at 2B for the Cubs but they have no money to pay him.

Steve Stone made some interesting replies to fan questions on his Twitter tonight. Basically, he shot down any Sox interest in Puig and Zobrist but said Brock Holt is an interesting name when a fan suggested Holt and Brad Miller. Stone also says Madrigal won’t be rushed so it sure doesn’t sound like he will make the opening day roster.

Not my favorite style, simply because they all mostly taste the same... like banana. I also am not a huge fan of Pilsners because they mostly taste similar to me.

Destihl is amazing. The joint and the food. Great service and more like a fine dining experience than the usual brewery with food service. Another great place to try here in the suburbs with great beer and food is More Brewery in Villa Park, although the awesome head brewer left to start Phase Three.
