Cordell is 5 months younger than Palka. They are both 27. Ultimately, I don’t think either guy matters much in the grand scheme of things.

I’d be fine with him as a mediocre DH batting lower in the lineup but forcing him to play RF as well makes him a negative value player.

I bet he’s making the Phillies a lot of money too. He’ll pay for himself. But he was too expensive for us.

Rodon is pitching tomorrow. But yeah, I’d rather keep Cordell. Did Palka have any options left? If so, send him to Charlotte and bring him back when Alonso is traded away later in the season so Palka can DH where he belongs.

He looks amazing right now. I don’t expect him to keep it up but even if he doesn’t he can still have a strong season hitting .275 with 25 homers.

What’s truly telling is if you look at the state of both the Sox and the Bulls. Both teams are horrible and both are managed by guys with jobs for life (Kenny, Hahn, And GarPax). Reinsdorf is obviously the problem.

I also have a nice collection of guns and like to go target shooting at the range. But it’s baseball season now and my favorite team sucks again, and it’s the ownership and management’s fault.

Since records and overall performance don’t apparently mean much to the Sox (see Hahn’s record), I don’t expect it to happen. Renteria should be canned because he’s a bad manager, regardless of his overall record with this rebuilding Sox team.
