April 10 Gamethread 1:10pm first pitch
Greg, Renteria WAS an older manager with experience and he blows. And no manager tells the front office what to do in baseball. They manage the players they are given. Leyland and LaRussa are both 74 years old.

Coop, job for life. Just like Kenny and Hahn.

Lost Tatis Jr? It's fine let's sign his younger brother
The Sox will only sign Tatis when he’s 36 and washed up.

What Now?
Nothing will happen. It’s a Reinsdorf-owned team. Everyone involved has jobs for life.

Per Forbes: White Sox 6th most profitable team by operating income, valued at 1.6B overall
How dare you. Hahn spent $45 million this past offseason bringing in some amazing talent.

Now that Renteria is making excuses, what is the horrific offense’s problem?

It’s worth a shot. Colome serves the Sox no purpose for this year or likely next year.

Hahn should. He’s the clown who built this team, not us.

The Rick Hahn Dynasty
Hahn has proven he signs the wrong middle and lower tier free agents time and time again.

The Rick Hahn Dynasty
Machado is worth $300 million. A 33 year old scrub like Jeff Keppinger was not worth $12 million dollars. But Reinsdorf owns the Sox and Hahn is our GM.

We’ve already seen this game before. The answer is no. The list of dumpster diving free agents that Hahn has signed has been plentiful and also a waste of millions.

Santana will start TUE
I agree with your premise. Guys can be successful with a 90-91 mph fastball, a variety of pitches, and really good control. However, you posted your complaint in a thread about Santana the same day gets shelled throwing 90-91 mph after not showing his usual velocity in Spring Training. In this situation, the velocity concerns were warranted and are likely part of the reason he was terrible today.

Eloy officially got paid
I squint my eyes and pretend Tatis Jr. is at 3B and Moncada is still playing 2B.
-
Santana will start TUE
Do you remember what type of pitcher Santana was and what his velocity was at when he was pitching well in prior years? The guy isn’t Greg Maddux.

The Rick Hahn Dynasty
Fine, have it your way — the front office and ownership both suck. ?

The Rick Hahn Dynasty
An embarrassing offseason in which he failed to sign one of his two top targets with very little competition for their services but managed to waste $13 million on the friends and family of one of them after talking about how the Sox would be big players in free agency. Expecting the fans to be happy that the Sox were “at the table for both Machado and Harper.” Saying that “the money will be spent” without the additional qualifier that it would only be spent on players already within the organization, not premier free agents. Spending $45 million total on junk this past offseason. The Shields trade has also aged hilariously bad.
-
Santana will start TUE
This comment aged about as well as Santana and his velocity. He was at 90-91 today but I’m sure it didn’t factor in. ?

The Rick Hahn Dynasty
He’s been the Sox GM for longer than the current rebuild period. “Rick Hahn (born March 20, 1971) is the vice president and general manager of the Chicago White Sox. Since his promotion before the 2013 season, his teams have a 419–553 record and no postseason appearances.” Rebuild or not, he’s bad.

04/09/2019 Sox vs Rays
Ervin Santana blows, so does Hahn for wasting money on him and many other reasons, the Sox are terrible, but we will have another good draft pick after this season. Did I miss anything?

Fernando Tatis Jr. thread
3rd homer, .867 OPS

Carlos rodon
The Sox likely think, right or wrong, that they will compete next year with Kopech returning and Cease joint the rotation. Rodon is under contract for next year and 2021. I doubt they trade him knowing this. They probably have visions of a 2020 rotation like this, with everyone panning out... Kopech Rodon Lopez Cease Giolito

April 8 - Rodon v. Snell 1:10 CT (mlbTV free game of day)
It can still happen but a couple different moves (undo Shields trade and signing Harper) and this team would definitely be looking good. Imagine that lineup with Luis Robert eventually in CF.
