We had an offseason where we could have signed two players who are MVP candidates and people are excited about a slap hitter with no power. Amazing. If he doesn’t develop some Altuve-type pop, he will essentially be Scotty Pods at 2B.

Covey isn’t good and neither is Renteria as a manager. These two facts shouldn’t surprise anyone.

I was being a bit sarcastic but at some point winning is more important than another top 3 draft pick. And I’d also take Tatis Jr. and Machado in our infield over Madrigal but Hahn blew those decisions. If you give him credit for a losing record so he could draft Madrigal, don’t forget what he messed up as well.

This sure does seem to be the case. Renteria will throw in any scrub reliever regardless of the situation.

Yolmer is not a starter. I am not a fan but he’s a bench player. Regardless, if he was traded tomorrow no one should/would miss him.

I don’t think so either but I’d be willing to give up more. The Cubs bullpen was already bad but it is looking worse to start the season. Colome and another reliever.

Worth a shot regardless. Colome for 2 years or Happ for 5? I’d rather see what Happ can do in RF than have a good closer on a bad team.

So what has actually resulted from a player in the same situation filing a grievance? Kris Bryant filed one and I don’t believe anything came of it. And he was the most obvious case of a player who was ready for the majors.
