If a team offers Ryu 4 years, it won’t be the Sox. I think Keuchel is more likely due to him being younger and having less of an injury history than Ryu. But there is no excuse not to sign one of them. Mazara is cheap and Gio will be $5 to $10 million.

Yes, definitely better than Nova... as long as Hahn is still in on Ryu/Keuchel. Surprised anyone would think it would be anything but a one year deal. Gio is 34.

I’m pretty sure the only two knocks on Gio is that he gets a little wild and will walk some guys and also that he was pretty much a 4 to 5 inning pitcher with the Brewers. But the Brewers handled Gio well and threw in their nasty bullpen before opposing batters saw him too many times. That’s easy to do when you have a great bullpen.

I wasn’t being negative. I was saying the guy has no potential, which he doesn’t. I guess the Gio Gonzalez signing should also give me newfound hope that the front office isn’t back to their dumpster diving ways.

Not worth the money with Mazara around now. I am not a Mazara fan but Cespedes is 10 years older. Save the money for two starters.

The Sox already have three of those guys. Don’t get so greedy with adding crappy SP options!

I don’t think it’s freaking out to be pessimistic of the Sox chances to land a good SP considering the two remaining that they can obtain for simply money are both Boras clients.
